Oh wow, can't believe she does it on a Taylor's #1 week. She's not a girl's girl confirmed. What a disgusting capitalist.

Once again, I don't understand why she and her team open their mouths to then just blatantly contradict what they say.

I have genuinely been a big fan of Billie from the beginning and I think she's very talented and the album is excellent. But the comments about vinyls, the environment, and now not caring about the charts were entirely optional and are all just making her look like a hypocrite.

I know she wants to project cool girl and a cool girl can't care about the charts but at least Taylor doesn't pretend to be anything she isn't.

It's not about caring for charts but clocking a woman who's pushing 40 and acting like a high schooler.

You go, Billie!

I think some of you are ascribing too much personal involvement by the stars themselves in this sort of thing. Labels want money. If they realize fans will buy multiple copies, they will do that. There is a possibility the artists don't even have a real say in the matter, or they have to carefully navigate the web of financial interests that their careers depend on and don't feel like they can say no. Or maybe they're making 100% of the decisions. We just don't know, but I would not assume anything. A career at this level is basically like being at the head of a corporation. There are a million interests and parties at play.

Plus, how sure are we that this isn't a move from Billie's label lol.

I don't know how anyone uses the multiple variants argument against Taylor these days and isn't embarrassed. They all do it now. I like Billie but the vinyl variant comment was not it after also having multiple variants pressing. I don't see why any artist gets shamed for several variants though vinyls have become quite collectible. Acknowledge it and move along.

She repeatedly said she "hates singles" and wants the art to speak for itself only to immediately push a single on release day

She said variants are greedy/not eco-friendly only to release 15 different physical variants

She said she doesn't give "two shits" about the charts only to pump out more versions of her album to secure the top spot

Yeah, she desperately needs a new PR team

Well, it's not like it matters since Billie is a far more talented vocalist than Taylor, and that's not contested anywhere besides ATaylorSwifTRL. I'd like to see Taylor sing Birds of a Feather, The Greatest, (particularly the belts) or at least try the vocal runs in Chihiro. Swifties trying to sneak into vocal talk is never not hilarious

No, that's not what she said. She said she hated releasing singles prior to the release of an album. If not directly, then it's clearly implied and inferred by anyone whose comprehension abilities are decent and not attuned to manipulating context

Intent vs impact. Again, she needs a new PR team.

When Bilie does it is just a normal business move by her label. When Taylor does it she is the most vile artist on earth :ahh:

She is the most vile artist on earth with or without that, but it's always nice to find reasons to say it.
