Archetype Posted May 20 Posted May 20 This is an obvious direct response to Taylor trying to block her from #1, so yes I support. Once again, what Taylor is trying to do is pathetic. 5
StayFrosty Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Even though I love how everyone here hates Taylor and for very good reasons, I honestly don't think she nor Billie are calling the shots here. Y'all actually think they're in charge of such menial ****?
dirrtydiana Posted May 20 Posted May 20 This is her debut week. This is her moment, everyone else has had theirs this year and bellie even stepped aside to let ariana have hers. She deserves this and a #1 on the h100 simply because she delivered amazing music 2

Taylor cares about numbers. Do the math So Billie doing it, it's clearly her label. Taylor does it, while she's on a boat with her boyfriend, and it was not her team, it was herself personally. Got it. 1

So what is the truth? The label made Taylor release extra versions against her will? 11 1

Bey'Knight Posted May 20 Posted May 20 15 hours ago, PoisonedIvy said: So no, Billie is not wrong for fighting for #1, neither is Taylor. No artist ever is. It is their job and they should push to reach new heights for as long as they have the ambition to do so. Why does Tayloe need to push for no1 in her 5th week? There's being competitive, there's also graciousness. Taylor had the wherewithal to move her release dates for the likes of Paul McCartney and Adele in the past so we're not gonna pretend these pushes are random. Why does she not extend that same grace to a fellow contemporary? No one said anything when she held off Dua from the no1 spot cus that was organic. With Katy, Olivia, recently, Sabrina, and now, Billie, it seems quite pointed and deliberate. It's obtuse for yall to act like it's just business as usual. Taylor's more calculated than that; give her the credit. 8 1

Taylor's more calculated than that; give her the credit. Why does Taylor need -not- push for #1 in her fifth week is the more profound question. There is no reason for any business entity to fall on the sword so that someone else can emerge victorious. You can call it cold or calculated or whatever but that's the nature of any competitive industry. There's the artistic side of music and there's the business side. The charts serve as the metric by which music as a business is measured, and in no timeline would all of the people on Taylor's team / label feel the need to "extend grace" to a contemporary (when Billie isn't even really Taylor's contemporary, mind you). The opposing sports team does not extend the courtesy of giving their opponents chances to score more points just because they're ahead after the first half. Taylor is a competitive, ambitious player and she has made that clear. The charts are not about taking turns and sharing success, they're a competitive leaderboard keeping score of key performance metrics. 1 3
mike_int Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Its basically acapella version of the album, whats the fuss ? She will probably release also instrumental version as well, otherwise I dont see a reason

It's pulling over 200k units just from streaming alone and it's already above HMHAS in daily streams. She deserves this #1 lol 2
