@BryceG This was my favorite song when I was like 5 years old. It was a huge hit in my country and I still remember the bell progression of the instrumental.

Great work!

I liked this song and have memories attached to its parent album (and predecessor "White on Blonde"). I was surprised when during the promo of "Summer Son" that Abba were mentioned as a reference point.

I was on a work placement in a South West London recording studio for most of Christmas 1998 and first half term of 1999, and had the pleasure of working on sound mixing a few album tracks on Texas's 1999 album 'The Hush'.

"Summer Son" was one of them, we did more than just mix, with brought in some session producers and I had to set up that session. I also cleaned up a lot of the demo, which wasn't quite as danced if I recall correctly.

How did this situation come about? Was it happenstance or did you actively work for it?

It was an unplanned single that's since become one of Texas's signature hits, and I got to milk my tiny little role and find myself working on Kylie and Robbie Williams that summer too.

What Kylie song did you work on?

Did not know the song. What other songs have you worked on ?

Uff, I immediately heard the bells of the production playing in my mind. A true classic! :clap3:

Worth it. The song like immediately clicked with fans and radio, and I remember getting a letter (in the post lol) that BBC Radio were going to debut it as a single and promotional song exactly 25 years ago, during the official charts show.

I worked for free as a teenager. Do coffee runs, roll joints up when asked, arrange all sorts of things - but got rewarded learning how to vocal and sound mix with real artists with real budgets. Got me connections to allow me to open my own recording studio in West London 12 years later.

In a sound mixing capacity, mostly UK and European artists that record in West London.

Katy Perry is the only major global pop star I've physically met and worked with, via Jaycen Joshua who used to be one of our resident producers/engineers.

No royalties on this or really on any of the work I've done. Sound engineering/mixing is non-creative and paid hourly or salary.
