Objectively, it's Hit Me, so much to unpack... it's still marinating for me

As of now, I prefer Eternal Sunshine, that album is just instant for me

HMHAS is superior but ES is an amazing album too. Literally my top 2 so far this year.

Eternal Sunshine for now but HMHAS is a massive grower next to being good from the getgo.

ES does not have a single memorable song and every song on HMHAS is amazing

Hard to tell cuz it's so soon and i loved both albums

But for me 'Eternal Sunshine' came and went. I got tired of it pretty quickly (but that's me, i'm not talking about numbers imo)

and i THINK Billie's album is here to stay for me, it's so fresh -- such an earworm, so that's my vote.

I also think it's more different from what we've been listening to than Ari's. Ari gave us something new too, but Billie even harder.

They are kinda similar in a way. Not lyrically but the feeling they give you when you listen to them is pretty alike

HMHAS makes ES seem like a cute little mixtape.

Ahhh two of my favorite albums this year (CC is in the mix too) :jonny6:. I think the production gives HMHAS a slight upper hand as all the tracks get such development. On ES there's 1 or 2 tracks I generally skip - still a phenomenal body of work tho.

I haven't revisited ES much since it came out

I really love HMHAS, so Billie

i like them both, billie cos it sounds like a big, musically ambitious album but one that isn't afraid to have a few tunes on it, ariana cos it's very sweet and (also) tuneful in the ways that i like about her best records, but there's this bittersweet emotional dimension to it as well.

it's too early to say which i actually like more, i have listened to billie's album exactly once

Billie's. Ariana's is good too.

Eternal Sunshine, I fear. It's more instant, sonically pleasing and it's impressive how many consistent captivating peaks there are in this album. I don't think I'll forget listening to it the first time.

While there are truly great and interesting moments in HMHAS (love Chihiro and Birds of a Feather), I find myself wading through some of the duller ballad-esque parts to get to them. It also isn't really treading new ground lyrically or subject matter wise - which I'm kind of disappointed by after the perceptive existential exploration that 'What was I made for' was. I was hoping for more of that versus the unrequited romance type stuff - but I'm all here for the queer love. There's also a lack of humor I'm missing - was her music always so serious?

ES is your regular Ariana album. HMAS tho? Now that's what you call an album :gaycat1:
