liquiddiamonds Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Miley's voice has a raspy and gritty feel to it. Dua's stuff is way too clean for her nowadays

It's going to reach a billi soon. ESV didn't score other major hit, but Flowers was no fluke. She can smash next era with stronger material

I don't think people care about Dua's personal life like that. OT: Those songs are fine, but too pop clean cut for Miley's rich tone. Not the music direction I personally want to see from her, ESV was already enough of that.
CottageHore Posted May 17 Posted May 17 While listening to most of Radical Optimism, I kept imagining Miley's voice on each song and she'd slay every single one. Houdini is maybe too different to smash by any MPG but if Miley put out These Walls as a lead single… instant #1!!

I don't think THAT many people across all generations care about Miley's love life, especially since that was not her first song about the topic, not even her first lead single. Midnight Sky bombed for a reason despite being the better song. Flowers was massive, it was certainly MUCH bigger than Miley's love life from years ago. People liked the sound, the WIWYM interpolation and they connected with the lyrics. People wouldn't just ignore the song cause Dua sang it
