There are going to be a lot of classic albums missing out on a place in the Top 50 and probably missing from the entire Top 100. They probably should have ruled out adding any 2020s album at this stage.

Idk why this is the point I'm taking issue with in this thread, but it is, so forgive me.  But this almost implies that the top 100 albums of all time are fixed and finite? Or does a certain amount of time have to have passed before an album can be considered for this distinction? Were the albums that currently comprise this list not worthy within their first few years of release either? Of course an album released in the last year could be one of the top 100 albums of all time. But it's definitely not 'SOS' lol.

 

Again, sorry if this felt like me calling you out, it was more just that comment got me thinking down this path. Why can't a modern album be considered one of the best albums of all time? What makes older music inherently better?
