NOW Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I'm not, but I guess she needs to be talked about somewhere, considering we haven't cared about her music since she was a teenager
VeniceBeach Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) In 2017, Lorde fans liked to compare their little commercial pop album made for the masses with the lead single that was sent to pop radio which immediately received 20 million airplay and the remix added later on the album to Lust For Life and discuss their chart positions, while ignoring the much more successful Ultraviolence. They expected the same success in 2021, but then Solar Power came out, where Lorde tried to make her NFR! but completely failed both commercially and critically. Her fans had to hide because they had nothing else to brag about and all their theses about long wait = quality music were shattered and they were left with 12 lullabies until 2030. Some of Lana's fans may still remember those times but don't worry, we have plenty of exciting things to focus on, such as stadium concerts and upcoming music in a new genre. That didn't even have a music video and it was never intended to lol and Green Light did pretty okay, more than Lana at that time
TROPICUM Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) You keep making this same thread every now and then just feeding that tired fan base war you keep blabbing about… I can assure you most Lana stans do not care so much about Lorde anymore and actually listen to her from time to time, but she was the first "beef" this fandom had all the way back in 2013 () and it stayed as a semi-joke to compare them or have "animosity" And quite honestly, it's become easier to drag out that joke since Lorde stopped caring about her art since 2017. Nobody gaf about L4 unless she actually delivers a good album, just like Lana got her lashes when releasing two semi-duds after NFR but then released Ocean Blvd. If anything, the little lordesters might be the ones jumping at any teasing because they know whatever legacy she built on her debut got dismantled by waiting so long to release and disappointing everyone with SP, while Lana kept perfecting her craft and is now considered the greatest songwriter of this generation. Tough (feat. Quavo) is coming soon, included in Lana Del Rey's new album, Lasso, which is also coming this year (her 4th album this decade). Edited May 16 by TROPICUM 2 3 5

Being alt doesn't mean being lazy. Releasing music is literally her job Edited May 17 by BrokenMachine

Papi Juancho Posted May 17 Posted May 17 I would also be mad if the media and people wanted to minimize the impact and influence that my fave had on all the alt girls since 2013. Like that article that said "Billie's music is heavily influenced by Lorde" just 2 days after Billie herself said that one of her main inspirations is Lana.
G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Is this 2014, I thought this stale ass Lana vs Lorde "war" had died a long time ago, but I guess ATRL likes to perpetuate ancient stan wars. 1
sway Posted May 17 Posted May 17 6 hours ago, Riverbank said: Funny how you left out the fact that Location was a H100 top 20 hit in 2017, before the Homemade Dynamite remix came out. Rockstar came out in 2017 and it literally PEAKED at #1 that same year and stayed there for 8 weeks. He also had multiple top 40 hits by that point so Posty was already a big name by then. Hope this helps Rockstar and Homemade Dynamite remix were released one day apart, so this assumption that it was a huge hit by the time the remix was released is false. Location was a slow burn the same way Lovely was. It was building steady ground for a while, but nowhere near the hit that Royals was. He was still moderately known at the time and was gaining traction as a feature on that Logic collab. Also, up until that point, Posty only had one top 40 hit, White Iverson, a song that was also very much a slow burn like Location. He did not have "multiple top 40 hits by that point". This revisionist history is so funny. Further proves these 3 artists were very much on the threshold of superstardom right around the time that remix dropped. Just to add, SZA also had Love Galore reaching the top 40 around this same time. All of them were still developing their presence commercially that summer. 2

And then her, pushing 30 at the time, liking that pin bracelet tweet from one of her fan accounts suggesting a teenager commit suicide over comments that weren't even outright shitting on her. Cause I remember Lorde saying this right around that time, proving her maturity in that situation. 1
