TBH Only Taylor deserves. Her success in recent year is unmatchable.

We were not the only fanbase to doubt it (TS, Beyonce, Nicki as well) but Karol G Stans chose us to attack because Shakira is a latin artist that what Karol G wants to be.

That's why her stans want everyone else to believe Karol G is at Shakira's level (which is a joke).

Karol G does well in recent years and I won't deny this. But she's way far from reaching Shakira's status. She is very limited with only the Spanish speaking latin community cares about her that's why she flopped in Brazil and avoid touring Canada.

In us manage será bonito has spent more weeks on BB 200 than any album from Shakira (laundry service included).

I wish TQG would've never happened... it's just been stan wars, and the song is not even that good to begin with. Both have better material in their albums...

 

I don't believe there's any beef but there was never love to begin with. Like they both respect each other but would not call each other friends or anything. This collab was just a business transaction (and you can tell by their interactions,) and that is fine! Not every artist have to be bff with their collaborators! But the fans have not helped a bit and every conversation about this has become toxic.

Very much agree with a lot of what you say, although using 150k pure sales of 2005 to then say that today's tour numbers are not comparable to those of Shakira's prime is rather debatable (to say the least).

Karol g had in 2023 the 18th most successful album in US, fijación oral only achived 75

Btw, it would be great if that reasoning about tours would be used with any artist, not just Karol's.

Probably some royalty dispute with Shakira wanting more money even though it was originally on Karol's album. 

She bought that "Cohete" song from Rauw, even though it was clearly made for his album.  Most Shakira collabs are purely transactional nowadays. She's not collaborating with others because she's friends or respects them as artists.

Spending so many weeks on the chart but it ain't even selling half of Laundry Service's number (even with streaming). The lead single is TQG mind you.

And? This is thanks to streaming and bad bunny has a similar achievement yet neither he or Karol have anything as iconic as whenever wherever.

 

And isn't the lead of that album the song with Shakira?
