shyboi Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) I find this interview very telling, as I said before, some artists just want quick little hits instead of playing the long game like Beyoncé. I sincerely think she still on track to bring this ambitious plan into fruition. Dua Lipa's goal is "to change pop culture" Her team has shared that they are aiming to change the pop landscape once again. Warner's Managing Director, Alex Burford, said: "We want more diamond records. We want streams of two billion plus. We want her to be the most streamed artist in the world." He continued: "We went into the campaign thinking, 'Judge us in two years' and we want to have huge culturally important moments in that time, in the same way 'Future Nostalgia' defined a particular time and became a really important album. The goal is not to have success in any one week, the goal is to change pop culture." https://www.nme.com/news/music/dua-lipas-goal-is-to-change-pop-culture-3542631 Edited May 16 by shyboi 1 6 1
Bends Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Dua Lipa's goal is "to change pop culture" Pop culture is dead. 4 1
SlimyGhoul Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Not with this album honey :\ Not being mean, this album isn't *bad* but it's certainly not changing any landscape. 3 1 1
Princess Aurora Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Pop Culture is not dead but this album is not very career-defining 4 1
shyboi Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 also being "thee most streamed artist in the world" means surpassing Taylor and others i'm here for this hunger and ambition tbh 3

Santhosh Posted May 16 Posted May 16 She ain't changing anything Not even trump's smelly undergarment 4
butterflymimi Posted May 16 Posted May 16 this ambition in cute, really, but why say this stuff so often? it literally sets her up and her team do it ALL the time. but in all honesty, FN had hits on hits on that album, RO sadly doesn't really have any, so they're going to be grossly disappointed
ImpressMeMuch Posted May 16 Posted May 16 the contrast between her lack of depth in interviews and her teams vision for her is so awkward 3 2
Sombre Posted May 16 Posted May 16 How can she change pop culture when she can barely change her sound. 2 7 1
KingWitch Posted May 16 Posted May 16 They're obviously counting on this era turning out like her others where she scores a bunch of other hits from the album, remixes and songs where she's featured that will be stacked on. But i honestly don't see it turning out that way this era, feels like people are over her for some reason. What's worse is once the album came out the streams for the singles plummeted, both Houdini and Training Season were comfortably doing 3mil daily but once the album came out they dropped to like under 2mil and haven't recovered 1

blackoutbritney Posted May 16 Posted May 16 This was more accurate during the future nostalgia campaign and rollout and campaign but not so much currently. Back to the drawing board miss lipa & co. I really think she should axe her dad from her team and get that previous team back
KatyPrismSpirit Posted May 16 Posted May 16 why are they always bragging about the future and things this new team hasnt even achieved yet. its giving radical delusion atp. just promote the record and stop being so obsessed and desperate. Spoiler yes dukagjin im looking at you 1

Future Nostalgia was a SMASH, and she followed it up with this. All that promo money spent for a very modest return. Momentum has dissipated. Next album will be make or break.
Richie.Valdez Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Yikes. Warner Music should start finding a new managing director, He should've just sat there and ate his food.
Ivan_brit Posted May 16 Posted May 16 She is doing fine ! So this comfirms RO era will be a 2 year era??
mike_int Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I think it would be nice to point out this article is from mid-November, therefore 6 months old 2
