mte!

I love love love it was good and blue water road, so this first listen was… uneven. definitely a fresh turn for her. I'll give it time to settle properly.

So I'm back after letting it marinate for almost a week... And yeah, I don't think it's touching Blue Water Road.

There are a couple of songs I'm not really keen on listening and I feel like skipping every time (What I Want and Sucia). But on the other hand, the ones where she departs from her lane the most (Crash leaning towards Rock, and Lose My Wife and Better Not leaning towards Country) have replay value for me and I'm enjoying them more and more surprisingly. What this album does that others don't is that most songs gravitate towards a common aesthetic/theme and I think that's really interesting. I'd give it 3.5/5.

best songs are GrooveTheory, After Hours, 8, Better Not, Vegas and Chapel

It's a good album for me!

Vegas, Crash, 8,  GrooveTheory and Chapel are the standouts:hippo:

Sucia is the only song I want to skip (and it's mainly the non-Kehlani part that's bad)

whew okay I was really harsh on my initial listen but I had a couple revisits and there's some great songs on here despite the stinkers.

GrooveTheory, After Hours, What I Want, Crash, Tears all amazing :clap3:

In this episode of Making The Album, Kehlani breaks down every single song on their genre-defying fourth studio album 'CRASH' 💥 Kehlani discusses getting Jill Scott to feature on 'Sucia', turning Christina Aguilera's 'What a Girl Wants' into a sex jam and how coming out as a lesbian has changed how they write. Plus, they even clear up how to actually pronounce their name This is your behind the scenes pass into how 'CRASH' was made 💿

The album flop that hard? No nobody is talking about this. At least she has good loyal fanbase.

I was initially shock she wasn't booked for BET awards, then I remember who owns BET.

I didn't like much of the album, the way she described the album and after hours I was expecting bops but we got slow R&B or R&B music I don't jam to. I thought R&B fans and shea butter community would enjoy this. She had one of the biggest R&B girl tour among women of color last time. Hopefully this tour will do well.

I'm seeing a lot of drama about Kehlani on tiktok. She married music producer Mariel Gomerez to promote her album, and the marriage ended 3 months later.

This tiktok has the formal documents of their annulment

Why is Kehlani always getting accused of shady **** like this? :biblio:

Her personal life's always been a mess no shade 💀

I didn't love the tiny desk. Background singers didn't compliment her tone and I feel like she could've did either additional songs or chose a few different songs.

Only one song from CRASH is very odd tbh.

Well given what is getting said about her breakup with her wife (that was her A&R for Crash) and her rushing to move on for the next project it's kinda expected she starts to pay dust to this project ddd
