KasioKas Posted June 21 Posted June 21 (edited) Her best since SweetSexySavage, I've always preferred uptempo Kehlani, and she was having fun creating this, it's a summer vibe! Edited June 21 by KasioKas
sweetkiss Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I don't know how to comment on the album because, at the same time, I love it and think it's 3/5, which makes it pretty solid , but I can't ignore that there is room for more. i think it would rate higher for me with diverse topics (a bunch of songs with the same topic which is eating puss or being eaten + done so explicitly that album cant be played at family cookout, let me not even mention drugs being mentioned in the chorus of otherwise summer bop tears, its like purposely trying to limit yourself to only single adult life audience and why), album should have more interesting lines, lines went pretty basic and held "super simple songs" construction, examples: You throw around these words I can't define and undefined I'm gathering the pieces, I'm wherever the peace is those solutions give 12 year old trying to make a song i expected a lot more of kehlani, like even normani who just made debut album made better album im glad kehlani is back and making music, but yeah, it could have been bop era for them

This is so different and I need to let go mte! I love love love it was good and blue water road, so this first listen was… uneven. definitely a fresh turn for her. I'll give it time to settle properly. 2
Alex Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 Hate to be that person but it's with a heavy heart that I have to announce that this is her worst album ever... :( 6 1 2

Gyal Posted June 21 Posted June 21 really disappointed by this, she's never topping IWGUIT - a perfect r&b album

tylermw Posted June 22 Posted June 22 This is such a great album! I liked more songs from this album on initial listen than I did with Normani's album. 1
skyandground Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Chapel is probably my fave I can see this album will be a grower! 7/7 projects for me

There's some really good moments but none of it's meshing for me :( IWGUIW is still her best project imo Edited June 22 by Tinashebanks 1
Jay L Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I was lowkey afraid to play this album but it's actually pretty good! I hate that she released Next 2 U as the 2nd single since that's the worst song on the album and kind of killed the hype of the era imo. Early faves are What I Want, 8, Better Not, Tears, and Vegas 1

Early faves are What I Want, 8, Better Not, Tears, and Vegas I feel the same. It's nowhere near as bad as people are in here being dramatic about. IMO her worst project was IWGIIW because it had absolutely no memorable melodies and the songs were very generic modern style "R&B" and I don't understand the appeal of it at all. This is far more interesting and appealing to my ears. Edited June 23 by Doogle 1
muziq.kid Posted June 23 Posted June 23 This is FANTASTIC. She really pushed herself and you can hear it. A wonderful project. 1
Grizzo Posted June 24 Posted June 24 to me the only thing you can't call this album is boring: i mean come on they gave us afrobeats (Tears), country (Better Not), acoustic (Lose My Wife), blues-rock (Crash) and of course R&B i hope this will get a Grammy nod! 1
