Lagerfeld Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Now, we know that at the moment Taylor is a pop culture phenomenon and THE music industry. However! Does she compare to the grip that Lady Gaga had on pop culture in her peak years of 2009 - 11? What do we think? 1

Popular Post Space Cowboy Posted May 15 Popular Post Posted May 15 Taylor effortlessly surpasses Gaga's peak in every way, which btw is heavily overrated in this site. 13 4 2 1 3
Popular Post HardBambi Posted May 15 Popular Post Posted May 15 TS probably sells more than Gaga did even back in the day when sales were higher in general but the impact is nowhere to be seen, everyone kind of likes Taylor and she sells a lot, but the impact, OMG Gaga had much more impact incomparable really, me thinks 16 2 1
enchanted0 Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Taylor's current domination is more than just being pop culture phenomenon. People outside of pop culture actually talk about it so it's far more impressive. 6 1 1 2

KatyPrismSpirit Posted May 15 Posted May 15 gaga's peak is heavily overrated. you can't compare it to the current taylor craze. this taylor stuff is on par with like Madonna in the late 80s 12 1 3 1 11
Peroxide Posted May 15 Posted May 15 It's hard to compare… a few years ago I'd say it was pretty even but late 2023/2024 tipped it in Taylor's favour. I think Gaga had a larger impact on the industry as a whole, in terms of celebrity, fashion, sound etc… Taylor's reach is far more wide reaching because she's selling something much more accessible than Gaga. 13 2 1
Mandalore Posted May 15 Posted May 15 All I know is that Applause became a staple in the Eras Tour experience so there's that! 1
dejmieeen Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Hard to tell tbh. Tayawn achievements are out of this world, she's truly THE POPSTAR OF OUR GENERATION, whether you like it or not. But Gaga's peak was also out of this world, and she changed the music industry for a while - everyone got into dance music, under her influence. Tie maybe? 1

How so? Not even peak gaga could sell out stadiums in pretty much all continents. Taylor is currently the biggest american artist not only in north america, but in many european, asian and oceania countries. Taylor now is easily more global than gaga ever was. 1 1

Sabrina Carpenter Posted May 15 Posted May 15 comparing Taylor's peak to Lady Gaga's is a bit insulting isn't it? 1

She truly meant it when she said it's her fave song. Edited May 15 by Mandalore
