the video is cool, I liked that. the song, on the other hand, is just the usual stuff. not much replay value for me unfortunately. :katie:

Had I not had RAYE's version on repeat for months I would've been so much more into this than I am. It's still a bop though.

The music video is a bit of a serve. The end scene styling is amazing.

It's a bop that does what it's supposed to. Hope this can do a little something for her because the reality is that this exact song would have been a contender for UK #1 anytime from Phoenix and before.

Rita Ora is one of the most bizarre, random current pop artist I can think of. The song itself isn't horrible (Raye never fails, I can hear her a bit in this song), but the music video was just... awful. None of it made sense :gaycat5:

This is cute, a grower indeed:jamming:

Bmg is terrible for Spotify promotions. She's still too young to have signed to such a label. Happy for her regardless, i love that she gets to put out music whenever she pleases. She needs to focus now how garnering a fan base by constantly releasing even if it doesn't do well commercially as long as the music is good she's alright.

it's cute bop, but Raye's version sounds so much punchier somehow :jonny2:

MTE.

I have a suspicion she signed a longer-term, multi-project deal with them. Because she was already talking new music the week of release of You & I.

IIRC it was either in the context of a deluxe/part 2 or a string of spot releases post it. Whatever the case, her saying that means it would for sure be on BMG and there wouldn't have been time enough to sign elsewhere.

Maybe she really is content scoring top 10 albums and owning her masters. I imagine one lets her keep up appearances as a "successful" artist and the other has way more financial benefit than any major label deal could. She may be flopping down, but the reality is that she stands to make way more the second she has any of these newer songs secure any kind of sync/brand placement. Be that on a commercial, in a film, or even Love Island.

Maybe she needs to explore other indie options. Isn't Raye (ironically enough) on The Orchard/Sony? As others have said, BMG don't seem to slay with streaming. Even with some of their bigger more active artists like KSI, whose success is more hinged on ish outside of music.

BMG is doing great job with sync tbh, Praising You was at some animation movie and even some album tracks were added to Love Island - she even performed there but the show doesn't do the same effect there anymore. Also Praising You was her first song in years to do some decent numbers on US Radio. But they don't know how to work with streaming, clearly. Even the acts know. When KSI was smashing song after song he dropped them and moved to Atlantic :coffee2:

I don't think she's ever leaving bmg because it seems other labels weren't bent on treating her fairly reason for her to sign with bmg as a last resort

This is one of the first misses for me from her in a while. Maybe it will be a grower.

And doing less than 100k daily streams on a song that actually has some playlisting is a bad look in general for her if she wants to make a deal with someone else.

I still can't bring myself to like this song. I don't know. Anyway, she had some great and immense bops for "You & I," but unfortunately, they were removed at the last minute due to decisions from higher up. I hope the new album can restore her to the success she deserves.

Why were they removed? She has the worst luck I swear. Like who did she miss of? Also what were these signs that you're talking about? Were they ever released by other artists?
