we know there's lots out there that sell their soul and try to become something different with every new trend that arises just to sell more, so...

which artists have been authentic to their brands since day one?

none of the big names tbh. half are sellouts and the other half evolved with different priorities.

Beyoncé has definitely kept a very cohesive brand over the years

Growth/Evolving doesn't make you inauthentic as long as it feels genuine and not just chasing trend. Beyoncé did evolve but if one been following her from day one, it makes sense and is authentic.

Adele is authentic too

Madonna

naaa, she might be the queen of pop but she has been selling out

her album confessions feels like a perfect balance between her edgy self and a current sound, after that she's being clearly trying to fit in and it feels forced

:rip:

Her second album was full of pop hits she didn't care for that were written for her in order to make her a huge star.

Y'all just be saying the names of your faves and don't think further. Pop stars are out.

Even Björk doesn't fit the definition of the OP.

Björk is the most incredibly consistent persona in the pop and pop-adjacent sphere despite her clear musical growth and evolution. Always weird, always bringing the talent, always good, never the same thing twice but never selling out :clap3:

If that's your criteria, then every single pop artist has sold out at some point and none have been 100% authentic.
