HardBambi Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Glad that Like a prayer, The fame monster and Control made it Apple music is very American, I wouldn't expect to see Anti charting anywhere else I hope Back to Black and Ray of light are in Flop list in my opinion, we are talking about the best albums of all time 1
politeone Posted May 19 Posted May 19 ANTI Acclaimed masterpiece. Rihanna did what needed to be done there. Crazy that she spoke this into existence, love that for her. Very happy with the choices & artists so far, and great albums from the ones I did not know, it's a quality list.

I recently learned that Kiss it Better is still charting in Asia for instance. Its just a beloved album at this point, that much should be clear. 1

But I'll just look at this as a random list of the 100 greates albums and not a ranking, I think it makes more sense like that. Its all subjective at the end, but I feel it should be even higher its nowhere near an average album. It deserves its spot and I think its fair while wishing it was higher
Bends Posted May 19 Posted May 19 At this point, I can be sure they may include Christina Aguilera's "Back to Basics". It's her best record and more magnum opus than "Stripped".

It's charting and it's pulling great streaming numbers but to include it in the best 100 albums of all time for me it's a reach, same with that Lana album, I mean her first album would deserve to be there but 1

If anything, they continued to be relevant over the years and people slowly realised that they have proven themselves, same thing with ANTI, we just knew that it was a great and kept listening and so have the critics and industry people who put this album in there. I don't understand why it is especially unworthy? Could it be because you may not respect the artist? 1
Mirtilo Posted May 19 Posted May 19 When you let go the positions conundrum, this list becomes enjoyable. I have been fun listening to the Apple Music radio dedicated to this list. I'm even doing a playlist myself inspired by it 2
Wicked Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Pleasantly surprised these made the list, Enter the Wu-Tang could be top 20 tho knowing the mess they gonna put ahead of it.
liquiddiamonds Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) 40. Aretha Franklin - I Never Loved a Man The Way I Loved You 39. Nas - Illmatic 38. Carole King - Tapestry 37. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the WuTang (36 Chambers) 36. Beyonce - Beyonce 35. The Clash - London Calling 34. Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back 33. Radiohead - Kid A 32. Notorious BIG - Ready to Die 31. Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill Still one album per artist. But some big names that usually make the top 20 in those lists already out (Aretha, Radiohead, The Clash). Looks like Alanis will be the representative of female alternative rock, so much lower chances for Fiona Apple, Hole, PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, Liz Phair, to make the list unfortunately. We still have these usual suspects to go: Miles Davis Bob Dylan Beatles Joni Mitchell Bruce Springsteen Marvin Gaye Taylor Swift Michael Jackson Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin Jay-Z Kanye West Kendrick Lamar White Stripes My Bloody Valentine* David Bowie Mingus* Lauryn Hill Beach Boys Pixies* Nirvana Edited May 19 by liquiddiamonds 2

Wicked Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Public Enemy making the list at all let alone that high might be restoring my faith in this list. Classic album. I prefer OK Computer but pretty ok Radiohead pick.
FolkLover1989 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I am 100% sure Taylor is not making this list. I don't know why people are pissed already lol Bey will have 2 more entries ig Anti is too high but ig Rih retirement kind of helps the narrative

KatyPrismSpirit Posted May 19 Posted May 19 This list is low key eating so far. I guess Taylor's only chance rn is folklore making the top 30... but not sure.
