do y'all agree? l

cos of my ideological opposition to this kind of canon stuff, i want to see these go in the most random way that is as offensive as possible to the act's respective fanbases, including me where necessary. so i would like to see:

- Michael Jackson: dangerous

- Bob Dylan: down in the groove

- Beatles: beatles for sale

- Beyonce: i am sasha fierce

- Taylor Swift: s/t

- Kanye West: donda

- Kendrick Lamar: section 80

- Radiohead: pablo honey

- Frank Ocean: he just has the two and they're both good? maybe we should just miss that guy out

- Joni Mitchell: dog eat dog

- Fergie: i don't know enough about fergie to judge, i think they should put the black eyed peas album in with where is the love on it tho

annoy everyone, generate coverage: this is the way to do it imo

50. Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love

49. U2 - The Joshua Tree

48. Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique

47. Drake - Take Care

46. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus

45. Björk - Homogenic

44. Stevie Wonder - Innervisions

43. Talking Heads - Remain In Light

42. Janet Jackson - Control

41. Outkast - Aquemini

I should have put U2 in my predictions, after all this is Apple who tried to give iTunes users a free U2 album that they didn't want.

Also Take Care ahead of Hounds Of Love. :frown:

Probably a Taylor's Version  :coffee:

Still don't trust them not to pull a Rolling Stone and sneak a Harry Styles album in there too.

With 40 left, I suspect that Fergie isn't going to make it. :sorry:

The only reason Anti is so low is bc BBHMM was not on it. Otherwise, it'd be at least top 2

If it is only one album per artist, Pure Heroine over Melodrama is a choice. PH also deserves to be on the list, but Melodrama is clearly better.

If it's only one album per artist then we have the following showdowns:

- Michael Jackson: Off the Wall vs Thriller

- Bob Dylan: Blonde on Blonde vs Highway 61 Revisited vs Blood on the Tracks

- Beatles: Abbey Road vs Sgt Peppers vs Revolver

- Beyonce: Lemonade vs Renaissance vs Beyonce

- Taylor Swift: Folklore vs 1989 vs Red

- Kanye West: Late Registration vs College Dropout vs My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

- Kendrick Lamar: good kid mad city vs To Pimp a Butterfly

- Radiohead: OK Computer vs Kid A

- Frank Ocean: Blonde vs Channel Orange

- Joni Mitchell: Blue vs Hejira

- Fegrie: The Dutchess vs Double Dutchess

My current bets in bold

And then we had these results:

SOS over CTRL

Like a Prayer over Ray of Light

Pure Heroine over Melodrama

Control over Velvet Rope

Flower Boy over IGOR

Blue Lines over Mezzanine

Sign o' the Times over Purple Rain

Love Deluxe over Diamond Life

Aquemini over Stankonia

Baduizm over Mama's Gun/New Amerykah pt I

do y'all agree?

Note: Missy remains the sole female rapper with an album inside the list. Maybe only Lauryn will join her, because I can't see Nicki, Cardi or Kim placing an album inside the top 50 lol

Fergie? :deadbanana4:

I was hoping they will go bold and give TEOM the retroactive acclaim it deserves. But no way, it would be in the top 50 now.

this means no vespertine in the list which is shocking lol

Why people like 'Homogenic' that much? 'Vespertine' is so superior.

YES. :clap3:

This album is more relevant for 20s than it was in 80s.

Björk was at the peak of her popularity at that time, the alternative and electronic genre also reached its apogee.

In addition, this is her best era in terms of music videos, which complemented the songs incredibly cool.

The context is also important: during the recording period, a crazy Bjork fan sent her a package with a bomb, which was intercepted by the police. The album is inspired by this incident, as Björk was stressed and worried about herself and her children.

In general, influence is also important. Homogenic has definitely had an impact on the electronic genre, more than Vespertine.
