Beyonce is the DEI pick as per usual - both overrated albums.

7 entries in the top 10 are black musicians, but somehow Beyonce is a DEI pick???

It's actually quite good for a 90s album. It went diamond originally and it has plenty of songs up of 100 million streams. Total of 1.3 billion streams. It's her sole studio album. That's more than some people that are actually from the streaming era

The lack of Latino and Asian artists here Yikes. Apple. The racist came out.

Is also a *** joke bad bunny havin the only spanish record here (his lyrics are just so bad)

and Donde Estan Los Ladrones (The most acclaimed and best spanish pop record ever nowhere to be found)

or El Mal Querer ignored (Best pop spanish album from the new gens)

What a dumb list :gaycat4:

It seems fair to me. Purple Rain deserves to be on the list just as much as Sign o the Times. The same can be said for Revolver, Ok Computer, etc

I didn't say they didn't deserve to be on the list. I said "3 too many" to imply that considering their female counterparts in critical acclaim total lack of multiple entries, they all could've stood to have only 1 entry as well.

One entry per artist would've been fair but then that would mean no Revolver or Abbey Road, which would ultimately hurt the list.

With all due respect, nobody is crying because Lady Soul or Hejira are nowhere to be found

of course they aren't... but that's for another thread.

Perhaps I'm overreacting when it's just an Apple Music list. Means nothing really. They could've put any 100 albums they wanted on it. Actually, I think I would've preferred it had they put more underrated or far less expected albums in it. Make it more interesting at least. They definitely could have because, unlike music pubs, they have no obligation to stay on code with the canon.

The gp AGREED with actual meaningful stats - not reviews coerced out because they wanted to look cool and not offend people.
