Is Bey the only female with more than 1 entry? That's good for her but bad overall since there are several male acts with multiple entries. It's just an Apple Music list but still ...

I believe there's only 4 male acts with a couple albums. That's not much.

lol that's 3 too many. I'm surprised that Joni, Aretha, Janet and/or Madonna didn't have a couple of entries.

The way ALL the legends love her... Nile Rodgers, Mariah, Madonna, Barbra, Stevie, Bono, Diana, etc.

These lists only hold weight because of the publication that makes them, otherwise they mean nothing really :rip:

Now THIS is a snubbed album... I know the disco era isn't known for great albums, but Bad Girls (and Off the Wall) deserved a spot.

some of you are being so annoying :rip: If you haven't bothered to even listen (or atleast tried to) to the majority of the list or anything outside of your faves, PLEASE shut up :deadbanana2:the whining for nothing because the list wasn't based off of your last.fm ddd

This post should be stickied.

The people saying x album should've been there should list why and specifically list albums it could've replaced. I'm bored.

Because most Atrl users who claim to be lovers of music. Actually aren't. They listen to music in a bubble. Their music knowledge doesn't go past the same tired top 40 song over 5 years old. No matter the list, or how accurate it may be. If it doesn't have a ton of their pop girl faves the list is crap.

That's why you really, really should not take this website seriously. I can bet those same people haven't listened to the majority of the albums on that list.

Funnily enough, this person is objectively wrong. It was musicians like Nile Rodgers etc that voted. Not random Apple employees.

beyoncé and radiohead are the only artists with 2 albums on the list

beyoncé and frank ocean are the only artists on the top 10 with albums released in the past decade

You want us to actually believe Ed Sheeran is a better artist than Stevie Wonder just because he has more streams? :hoetenks:

Obviously, we have to compare to albums released in the same era. The Cowboy album is the most acclaimed MPG album this year but has some of the lowest streams for an MPG album despite having 2-3x the number of songs as other albums, which says something.

I mean I'll be devils advocate their lovers of the type of music they typically like, it just looks silly when its a general conversation.

Some people seem to forget there are only 100 spots on the list. Sorry if your fav's '6.7 on P4K' album couldn't make it, but the jury had bigger fish to fry. :dies:

And I agree that we need to start seeing some EXPLAINING as well. Namedropping albums isn't enough.

Writing camp'd albums should be nowhere near any of these types of lists.

It's such an insult to actual artists who contribute heavily to their work unlike those who need an army of 500 people to put together an album. It's shameful to see notorious thieves being lauded.

Yeah, that there's no correlation between sales and quality. Celine Dion outsold Radiohead. Drake outsold Kendrick. Transformers outgrossed No Country for Old Men. Sales =/= quality. Lack of sales =/= lack of quality.

Hell, one of the albums on this list (The Velvet Underground & Nico) sold next to nothing, yet had more impact and recognition that most of the others. :dies:

It's been 20+ years and some of you still don't know that a) music can be and is a collaborative art, b) how sampling and writing credits work. Rockism is not the only way to judge music.

The way some of you start malfunctioning when the sales argument isn't working out is crazy.

Y'all need to go listen to all the albums on the list, put that subscription to work.

It seems fair to me. Purple Rain deserves to be on the list just as much as Sign o the Times. The same can be said for Revolver, Ok Computer, etc
