Apple Music reveals its 100 Best Albums list

According to them, this is a ranked list for a reason and #18 is a higher ranking than #55 at the end of the day. 🫡

If you truly felt like they're all in the same breath, you wouldn't have felt the need to label its ranking as "crazy". But evidently the distance in positions between these two albums was significant enough for you to make such a remark. Someone's looking bothered… 🫡

I said it's crazy to rank 1989 higher than the three albums I mentioned, because I think it's crazy to say that it's a better album.

But there's a difference between 'ranked higher' and 'not in the same breath'. This is an all time list - every album that made the top 100 is essentially considered to be in the same… breath.

Never change Navy…

Counterpoint:This list has been very predictable. The only plot twist so far is Radiohead scoring two albums, which means anyone acclaimed can make the top 10 with a second record, although the people that didnt show up yet will definitely appear for how predictable they are (Lauryn, Amy, Kendrick, Nirvana, maybe White Stripes)

They probably allowed Radiohead to appear again just now to drum up interest for the top 10 tomorrow. They are smart. Radiohead deserved but other acts that showed up already also impacted music with more than one record. Whatever…

The only thing that will make this even more predictable is a surprise extended list with the records that didn't make the top 100 (like 250 albums or something) lol

Blue is indeed a great album but sadly it's not Joni's best it definitely has to be Hejira but Blue is a great work of art regardless.

I'm sad they didn't pick Hejira :(

My top 10 prediction (alphabetical order):

Amy Winehouse - Back To Black

The Beatles - Abbey Road

Beyoncé - Lemonade

Fiona Apple - Fetch The Bolt Cutters

Frank Ocean - Blonde

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Nirvana - Nevermind

Prince & The Revolution - Purple Rain

If Ray of light is not there it's a flop list. Mother reinvented Pop. Confessions too

no list will ever please everyone but this is just a mess, surprised to see Apple go for such populist picks given their music heritage

Where is the Bible and the manuscript of EDM, Hyperpop and House pop music?

I kinda need Renaissance to beat out Lemonade for the Top 10 placement. And I'm so serious right now.

Sorry not sorry. :suburban:

I'm shocked there's no Mariah or Celine on the list. Also, counting the straight white boys favorites that are left to put on this top 10 like Nirvana, be sure there will be TONS of greats left to dust.

And if Robyn is top 100 and Kacey, Blackout should be on the list. This is ridiculous.

Not to mention 1989 being the worst re recording and being top 20 lol gotta laugh

I feel as though Lemonade will be in the top 10

And I feel like Renaissance deserved placement

We need a primetime special for the top ten i fear :ryan3:

Mariah not getting any placement on this chart is a JOKE.

Where's Butterfly? Daydream? The Emancipation of Mimi?

Like let's be ******* for real. It frustrates me the way her legacy is ignored/not being taken seriously like other musical legends…

I can kinda see SOUR in the top 10

1989 being so high is such a kii nn

Renaissance definitely deserves a place more than Lemonade but I fear ST will be Bey's only entry since this list seems to generally be a mix of what's most popular with what's most quality.

I think the only current artist we'll see in the top 10 is obviously Kendrick, but I dunno about anyone else. If Olivia makes it… :bibliahh:

I love Olivia but girl… please over Joni Mitchell and other legends :rip:

Not Stevie, Beatles and Prince possibly having a second entry in the top 10. Hopefully Lemonade as well but I don't want to set her up :ryan3:

MJ needs to go quick.

Lowkey rooting for a Lauryn #1 :ryan3:

Well since Radiohead got a second entry Purple Rain is definitely top five

Why would they choose 1989 for Taylor and not Folklore or Red? 1989 is a bad album in my opinion. People go crazy over Anti and I get it but don't get it at the same time. Anti is one of Rihanna best albums and is very mature so it deserves to be on this list but IDK about the placement. I will say Bey self titled album is great but I'm curious if Lemonade will be in the top 10 list or not so I can critique.

This list is a *** joke in so many ways and overly anglocentric :bibliahh:

Probably a Taylor's Version  :coffee:

I called it, they picked a lame Taylor's version over the original. :dies:

There is no way 1989 deserved to be above this album:

50. Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love

But especially not the Taylor's version.
