Does "But Daddy I Love Him" have Taylor's best lyrics of Tortured Poets?

If all you want is gray for me, then it's just white noise and it's just my choice is one of the most powerful lines I've ever heard :jonnycat:

I'm having his babyyyyyyyyyy, no I'm not, but you should see your faces

I just learned these people only raise you to cage you

I'll tell you something right now, I'd rather burn my whole life down than listen to one more second of all this b****ing and moaning

I'll tell you something about my good name, it's mine alone to disgrace

I don't cater to all these vipers dressed in empath's clothing

God save the most judgmental creeps who say they want what's best for me
Sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I'll never see
Thinking it can change the beat of my heart when he touches me
And counteract the chemistry and undo the destiny

You ain't gotta pray for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Me and my wild boy and all this wild joy

I think so. Her lyricism on that song reminds me of the Speak Now album

Yes!! It's gives me "Dear John" vibes except it's a lyrical scathing to her fans :jonnycat:

Hard to choose since there are a lot of excellent lyrics across the whole album.

One of the best lyrically, along with The Black Dog and Guilty as Sin?

No. But it's good.

Guilty As Sin? and loml outlyriced.

In addition to The Black Dog and I Hate It Here.

However, But, Daddy I Love Him is still a highlight.

Clara Bow >>

This town is fake, but you're the real thing

Breath of fresh air through smoke rings

Take the glory, give everything

Promise to be dazzling

The crown is stained, but you're the real queen

Flesh and blood amongst war machines

You're the new god we're worshipping

Promise to be dazzling

Honestly I find this one really cringe lyrics wise, which is a shame cuz it has some of the best melodies on the album. Same for Guilty as Sin.

yeah, its only song from the album i've been coming back to. i think its kind of mish mash that works/spotlights what taylor is good at. speak now'd teen angst alongside simple pop country instrumentation with folklore'd cinematic narrative as a HaTerS clapback that she loves to do but subverted because its directed at her fans.

It's good, but not strong enough in the lyrics department when you compare other really solid tracks. "I Hate It Here", for instance, is brilliant to me.

It's very high school creative writing class. So no.

I always thought it was 'until the death of me' instead of 'undo the destiny' :rip:

She went to Ariana Grande school of enunciation for this one I fear
