The fact the most so many are willing to do is click block on their phone and post online is so telling about how much these people actually care about the issue. For those actually doing more/multitasking thank you though <3

Yeah I've TOTALLY changed my mind and jumping ships immediately and totally on board with this. Just listen to this girl, she spilled. This is for a MUCH bigger cause and might just...might start an actual online revolution. Also I did NOT know about that girl Haylee's " let them eat cake" what an insensitive gesture at THIS time. Also 75k to just attend this so called "charity" event? Yeah that's just terrible regardless of whatever we all think. "Inflation" has set us all workers back decades . We can barely afford rent and keep up with bills. Then there's children literally dying in some parts of the world that WE  are all collectively contributing from the taxes taken out of our wages that we can barely get BY. I can definitely understand the frustration. First Hollywood then politicians..... sounds great.

I agree :clap3:

How is blocking a celebrity going to help Palestine in any way? :psyduck:

Here's what i leaned after seeing some videos pop up on my socials today. The theme for the MET was Garden of time which is a novel based on the story where the rich escape to a garden to avoid the "mob" referring to the working "poor" class. So they use each flower to pluck its petal going back in time each time delaying the "mob of people". After that the privileged class run out of time and the mob finally catches up to them to k word them etc.

People then learned that each Celeb had to pay about 75k to just be there. Someone's purse apparently cost about 22k and it was a literal melting ice :rip:

Then that annoying influencer person shows up as Marie Antoinette :rip: and uses the infamous "Let them eat cake" line for a stupid challenge. And I guess we all know what that line REPRESENTS.

So lots of people/influencers were just annoyed by that whole ordeal and the weirdness that was happening as a literal KNOWN genocide takes place , more than 20k children killed in Gaza. Famine in Sudan, Half a million people affected by the floods in Congo, children dying every 10 minutes in Yemen due to famine. And us struggling to live pay check to paychek due to this ongoing "inflation". So they arranged a boycott against the wealthy.... then they'll move on to companies and politicians. Basically an "eat the rich" situation before we're eaten.

Agreed. It all just feels very performative :rip:

Jennifer Lopez and her husband are like the only A-List celebs to ask for a ceasefire when everyone else was condemning the Hamas attacks and ignoring the fact Gaza is being decimated. :deadbanana2:

Right?! @KFC make it make sense. Anyway, continue with your performative blocking streak. I hope it makes you feel better. Meanwhile, there's people out there on the streets demonstrating, donating and setting up GoFundMe's for displaced families vs. creating TikTok videos for views/clout while blocking people without researching and sharing random celebrity lists :rip:

You were so desperate to jump on your high horse you completely missed the fact that I was joking :rip: Hope you find a sense of humour while you're out in the streets demonstrating

We are all the same. And actually, there's nothing humoring about any of it!

I'm pretty sure I'm beating a dead horse here but the performative blocking of celebrities will do nothing for multiple reasons. The big one is that they're not in power. Like, sure, talking to a bunch of fans will make the fans feel better about supporting them, but it's non-actionable. Even if the celebrities go to the politicians, it's still likely to be non-actionable. The politicians don't care.

More importantly, there's a growing number of people who just don't give a **** either way about Israel/Palestine relations; just like they didn't about Russia/Ukraine relations, and all **** like this is going to do is push them in the direction of hating them, much like the BLM riots did 4 years ago.

Any updates?

so.. if celebs start saying "free Palestine" after losing followers or their pr telling them to do so, ya'll will follow them back? this is so performative.. but very fitting for today's superficial culture
