Is "Radical Optimism" Dua Lipa's "Try This" era?

This means when she abandons this era - "I'm Not Dead" is coming :jonnycat:

P!nk had her biggest smash era in her sophomore era with Missundaztood while Dua had hers with Future Nostalgia

Their 3rd eras were not commercially successful with "Try This" being a 90% decline for Pink - and it's looking like Radical Optimism is following suit

Thoughts?

Houdini was her "Feel Good Time"
Training Season was her "Trouble"
Illusion was her "God is a DJ"

Her "Last to Know" is coming!

not really because it's not a drastic image and sound change as gggb > rr

I already wrote in the album thread, it's more like Loud to TTT

Era full of smash hits > era with a new dance / electro style lead single for the pop girl in question but does not represent the album well, the album is still full of bops though

obviously on a smaller scale success vise but I do not see Dua being Katy'd and just deleted from the pop sphere post RO, she can bounce back, only one hit song is needed really

It's giving P!nk's Try This (atleast in US) if we're talking slumps and where they were at in careers.

Their debut album was very moderately successful, sophomore album was breakthrough with multiple smashes. They still never were truly seen as undebatably main pop girls to this point though.

No notable hits on the album so far, and the preceding Soundtrack single (Dance The Night/Feel Good Time) was bigger than all the album singles.

Rated R was a dark album, very different and risky from her previous album.

Rated R is a good album.

Rated R Had a Smash hit.

So no

Nice to see the Dua stans really embracing the theme of Radical Optimism.

No it's giving something else with extremely similar visuals & similar critic reviews and we discussed this many times but y'all still love to associate it with random 50 year old albums

P!nk was pressured into making Try This within one or two weeks, iirc. And I think she didn't even wanted the album out.

Just a little funfact

I see Future Nostalgia -> Radical Optimism as her Fever -> Body Language. The new music is objectively good and is slightly more adventurous but unfortunately the songs just don't hit as hard and it performs worse commercially as result.

No, it's her 'The Spirit Indestructible' .

That means Dua is recording masturbation song "Fingers" for her next album like P!nk did whewww

That's not a bad comparison to be honest. But in short Dua will definitely bounce back. Not everyone is gonna have a steady commercial or critical response.
