That was probably some bad intel on Kenny's end. Kendrick is a better rapper than Drake, he isn't going to out-rap Kendrick. Even if he did, he would get slammed with Ghost writer claims right away. The idea of Drake abandoning another child and it's somehow entirely believable is the point. And the idea of him being so sexist that he won't claim a daughter, now that's arresting thought. True or not, it truly makes a good premise because Kendrick makes people think about it, while Drake now has to think twice about his pullout game. 2

BnPac Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) I was right when I said Drake should have just not responded. In essence, Kendrick was truthful in "Like That" . This will probably go down as his biggest mistake ever. Things have a hierarchy, numbers are cool and fans can fight about it all day long but as a rapper himself, he should have known that Kendrick is by far the best of his generation, he's so gifted that the gap is just too big. "Big Ole ME" and he was right. Words are his guns, words are his best allies, words are his weapons. There was no way he could have won. When I listened to Meet The Grahams, I was so shooked that he went there, I couldn't even comment. What I didn't know however is that Kendrick is PETTY as hell. He's not letting go of this bone. Man, he hates Drake. Edited May 5 by BnPac 4 1 2

FSXP Posted May 5 Posted May 5 All of this was avoidable for Drake. The Like That verse was not a verse to get tilted over. It was everything that we already knew from the last decade of subs. Kendrick don't mess with Drake. He thinks he's above him in talent and artistry and that he's #1. The issue is that Drake is basically a grown incel at this point too connected a certain demo. Drake's ego is also ridiculous since post-Views and that Meek beef. (which in hindsight is hilarious cause we know Meek is dumb) He can't punk out cause he's spent the last 5-7 years claiming the top spot cause he got the numbers. He even whined about nobody making it a big deal that he was artist of the decade cause the culture doesn't care. Drake was never going to win cause he's simply not a better rapper and artist than Kendrick and he got too many skeletons atp. Well all this to say is, Kendrick just saying the quiet part out loud. Drake is weird, Drake is phony, and he's insecure. He's only become more weird with time and more fake hard so it was only a matter of time. 11
Beyoncei Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Put them in the ring like the good old days - preferably without clothes and I'm there. This is boring to me

Kelly? Did he apologize after that or is he just hoping we forgot? There's two portions to this. Neither of these are a defense of Kendrick, just added context: - Part of Kendrick's defense of R. Kelly and XXX's Music staying on Spotify was a concern that the rule would be unevenly applied across genres/races, and given rap specifically has a history of crime-laced lyrics, there was probably a legitimate concern some aspects of the culture could be wiped out at the whims of Spotify/public opinion. - Kendrick is very Black-Male-centered in his art and politics. He's socially aware but not necessarily socially correct. He is a flawed man inside of an industry that glorifies and coddles flawed men (to the detriment of women), and feels like he has to believe that some of these men (himself, Kodak Black, etc.) can be redeemed. Presumably the implied argument within his hypocrisy is that Drake and his circle are so evil that he doesn't believe they are entitled to the same grace that other flawed/abusive men in the industry have been receiving for decades.
