Communion Posted May 4 Posted May 4 The worst part of this all for me is like... these interactions have to be by a social media intern, right? Like why is going on in.a multi-millionaire's life that they're so detailedly reading their social media comments that they can find not only critical comments but reply + block? She doesn't even have an album out! It's not like she could be like "I really want to see how my fans are responding to my art!" Like what incentive is their for a celebrity to be this plugged into social media, let alone one who is routinely choosing to have bad political hot takes and fight with people when getting backlash for said hot takes?
Scabandplaster Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Her mental development must have been stunted. The pitfalls of early stardom it's a shame! 1
Rhyme Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Meanwhile the people in here mad about Selena probably haven't donated a cent. And no, using Selena/Palestine in stan wars doesn't count as activism. 4
feelingsonfire Posted May 5 Posted May 5 These are literally set up accounts, why are mods still allowing these threads? and is Demi that boring? 3

It is a bit dumb people expect her to know every single boycott, especially since she is not an activist, but she could have responded with something more positive if she really cared. Instead, she took the opportunity to be snarky and paint herself as the victim again. Take another social media break, sis. She is the victim here. She's the victim of performative activists who think that bullying people online for going to Starbucks is saving any lives or actually delivering things that can help the people in Gaza. They'll type "Selena is so disgusting for this. Take another social media break sis" and then not think about Palestine until they see the next celebrity they dislike drinking Starbucks. Rinse and repeat. 1

You're worried this much about Selena's social media activity and you have the nerve to act like you're above anything? Maybe move like Selena and actually donate to the people dying instead of being an empty headed performative activist online. 59 minutes ago, Communion said: The worst part of this all for me is like... these interactions have to be by a social media intern, right? HASHTAGPOW Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Looks like Selena isn't the only one that needs a social media break 2
Bhabylon Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Just goes to show, she learned nothing from the last couple of times she fumbled her response to the genocide I'm over her

ohjulia Posted May 5 Posted May 5 People are so irreparably dumb. I'll continue enjoying my daily Starbucks.
