I feel like Frozen wins automatically since it's a franchise with a successful sequel, a planned third movie and probably the most successful IP of Disney (I mean, you see more products with Frozen characters slapped on than with Mickey Mouse). The movie Barbie isn't (yet). Barbie as a brand would be a different conversation.

Frozen the better plot, the better characters, the better songs :ryan3:

The Barbie movie was a disappointment. There should've been less focus on Ken and making him a villain made no sense for his character. Greta Gertwig clearly didn't understand the lore of the Barbie franchise and you can tell she never watched a single animated movie from the Barbie Cinematic Universe. Also where the hell was Raquelle???

Kids are still singing Frozen soundtrack songs more than a decade later. I love Barbie but it & the entire phenomenon around it is gonna be seen as very of-it's-time in some years

Barbie was popular between adults too, not only with kids.

Frozen had a much longer peak period and stayed in the conversation longer while people already moved on from Barbie for the most part.

As someone for whom both these movies were targeted to in their respective periods, I think we'll have to wait this one out to make a judgement. Both were huge for their times, but I still see Frozen merchandise to this day. Dare I say it's Disney's biggest movie since the 1990s Renaissance, and the mammoth success of 'Let It Go' will carry the name of the movie for decades.

This does not discount the monumental success of Barbie because Barbenheimer was a cultural event, accelerating the revival of cinema and breaking numerous records and glass ceilings.
