Taylor fanboy Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Pop music is allegedly being purged. Who will be the next victim of The End of Poptimism this year?
A Million Lights Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Hopefully Billie. Cant stand everyone pretending to like whispers and bass 11 1 8 1 22
sweetblindness Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I think Billie will be fine. I'm not a huge fan but critics eat her music up. I think Katy and Lana could be the next victims depending on the quality of their respective albums.
Popular Post rihannafan Posted May 3 Popular Post Posted May 3 Not poptimism coming and going without a Rihanna release 49
SuperCiC1 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Melanie Martinez will become the new Taylor Swift and be crowned songwriter of the century. 1
Blackout2006 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) Billie will always have critical appeal wrapped around her finger unless the album is really bad. This does not seem the fate for her upcoming album in light of recent reviews from insiders. Plus, alternative music is enjoyed by critics. The first two comments don't even make sense Edited May 3 by Blackout2006 5 1
Obsession Posted May 3 Posted May 3 It could go wrong for Billie - but she has the alternative tax and she shares the voice of the new generation role with Olivia, so critics may not want to pan her for fear of seeming out of touch. Charli is also like seen as a maverick so she might not bite it either. I guess we'll have to wait and see. 4
CameraFlashes Posted May 3 Posted May 3 how can they be critic victims while their latest music is not good at all.... 1
DirtyPony87 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Depends on when KP6 comes out, but it might just have to be Katy, I fear. Poor woman can't catch a break.
Lose My Breath Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Taylor Swifts album was just terrible…. You're trying to call it something it isn't. 15 5 6
aesthetic bih Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I feel like it's gonna be Lana. No way Billie is gonna get panned this era, the GP are on board this era and gonna eat up whatever **** she puts out 3
Suilen Posted May 3 Posted May 3 People saying Katy like she got to experience the perks of poptimism in the first place (except for that retrospective TD review)
BGKC Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I don't see Billy going anywhere anytime soon lol It could be over for Cardi B tho. That sophomore album would have to be an amazing reinvention of herself.

GeminiCat Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Billie is a critical darling and I think dropping the album all at once actually benefits her more. She's still riding high off the acclaim and public goodwill following WWIMF, no bad single choice(s) curb the momentum and anticipation for the album this time. Camila is my guess, this era is setting up to be very polarizing, I could see some scathing drags esp the way some writers went in on Taylor and Dua . 1
