Overrated albums by their stanbases?

Aethereal

Recommended Posts

Being considered decade-defining masterpieces by their stanbases while not rated high (like rated average) by other stanbases or non-harcore stans.

I'll start.

Blackout by Britney stans.

Born This Way by Gaga stans.

Folklore/Evermore by Taylor stans.

I'd put Invasion of Privacy too but it's completely forgotten now by ATRL since the numbers fell so I don't think it fits there well.

As the opposite:

NFR! by Lana

Plastic Hearts by Miley

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse

You can't overrate perfection.

The Tortured Poets Department. It's definitely bottom 3 on T's discography.

I'm judging based on what's overrated within the fandom, not the GP.

I'd agree with you on evermore, but folklore is a huge part of why Taylor had this massive resurgence, definitely not overrated

Sawayama came to mind instantly, it was lowkey a huge decline from the Rina EP but everyone pretended it was amazing

Glory is generally highly liked by Britney stans but it is not considered a decade-masterpiece in the same way Blackout is.

Blackout is well liked outside of Britney fans.

I like Blackout though and think it deserves praise.

Britney fans act like Blackout invented dance music :rip:

And I say that as a fan of the album :rip:

I clearly meant overly-praised, this does not exclude you from liking them, more like a whole GP-thing.

You only got Evermore right. Never heard a Katy stan claiming TD is the album of the decade unless they were talking about the numbers and TD is actually well like by non-Katy stans. Midnights is not even Swifties' favorite album.

Lorde does not have many stans in here to begin with.

We like it as a mid album but it's not exceptional. I see it as a less better sister album version of the "The Fame + Monster".

3.64 and bolded on RateYourMusic says otherwise.

No it's not, the streams for that album for years was terrible until the free Britney movement media storm. Gimme More is the only song used by the general public.

Overall this album is insanely underrated. It's a great party album nothing more it totally ripped from Justin & Nelly.

Give me more sounds like a tribute to SexyBack.
