Adele hasn't collabed with anyone since 2008 (excluding All Night Parking interlude). Imagine if Taylor would be the first one. I love these two women so much, it pains me to see two of them being constantly pitted against each other.

Let Adele have that single record. After all, i don't think she'll ever reach that again, even surpassing 1M is impossible for her now. While Taylor will keep on having 1M+ debuts for years to come It's not as impressive because one number is a lot bigger than the other. You can't just fool yourself and other people in to believing what you said is true. If Taylor wants to beat Adele's record, she'd have to split up with another boyfriend and write another album about another failed relationship. She'd have to release even more variations of an album than usual, then she'd have to discount it to reach Adele's record. That way her fans can buy 8 copies instead of the usual 4 to make sure she reaches the record. 3 1 3

But I think that 2.61M (of which 860k vinyls) in 2024 is just as impressive as selling 3.4M albums in CD's and digital album downloads in 2015. Let's remember that a vinyl gets sold for $35 and CD's are only $11 most of the time Did 25 not have vinyls in its debut week?

Vinyls weren't really a thing like that in 2015, it wasnt until 2019 when vinyl sales started to take off a little more and post-pandemic is when the vinyl market really started exploding. 25 did the grand majority of its 3.38M pure sales figure in iTunes album sales and CD's. The vinyl sales in its debut sales week can probably be disregarded entirely as it barely sold any vinyls then. 1
alanmontes Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Why would Taylor need to break that record when ALL her albums are selling?
Kitboga Posted April 28 Posted April 28 (edited) All it takes is for billboard to ease the bundling rule and little Delely's record is toast. meanwhile, Adele will never beat, in fact never even come close to the 683k SEAs/900M streams record. In fact I can throw your fave's SEA + physical numbers in there as well and it'll probably still be lower. Edited April 28 by Kitboga

Trent W Posted April 28 Posted April 28 The talk about her breaking that record is getting exhausting She doesn't have to do anything anymore
woohoo Posted April 29 Posted April 29 As a Swiftie she doesn't need too and nobody ever will in the streaming era. Also, I'm glad OTH have a safe space here where they can discuss their opinions and critics opinions to mold their reality that's needed to cope. It's hard knowing your faves will never cross 1M, 2M, or 1B in a week, hell, half of them struggle if you drop a zero🤣🤣🤣.

It's pretty funny. 3/4 of this site were hiding behind all these walls from Taylor and now she's destroyed nearly all of them and they're all hovered behind a few critics and Adele and their opinions. And even the critic hiding will likely be for this album only. OTH seem to be having their own housing crisis

byzantium Posted April 29 Posted April 29 She doesn't need to beat it. She is already the biggest female artist of all time in the U.S. and has plenty of records. Adele can have this one. 2
Buffy Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Make a pop/rock album. Max Martin. Better features: Avril Lavigne, Shania Twain, Michelle Branch, Hilary Duff. 1
Strawberry Bubble Posted April 29 Posted April 29 1 hour ago, Mike91 said: Most of Adele's sales are unique sales from individual people, not people using their trust funds to buy multiple copies of the same album. You can probably divide Taylor's sales by 4 and get the real number. So Adele still wins. I wish Adele cared as much for her career as you do. 1

єѕℓαм Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Nothing cuz she'll never be able to break it and neither can Adele
