If you have the means to not work for that long to be around your loved ones when they are sick and to take care of your mental health I think we'd all do it. She has the means and took advantage of that and just focused on self healing, self love and taking care of her parents who she loves a lot. That reminds me that the 6 years was kind of understandable in a way...I know the majority of us would have to push through and work regardless but ofr those with the means to not I don't blame u at all that didnt stop her from being a video vixen for Chris Brown tho 1 2
Not Like The Movies Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I like Motivation. But she clearly doesn't want to do dance pop. It's very clear. I personally would love any route she goes but if she wants to mid tempo R&B, I love that too so! Waves is her best song imo. I am certain she has some upbeat R&B coming. But it is fine if she doesn't want to do pure pop like Motivation. 1
Gossip_Boy Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I don't blame her. Motivation is rubbish and I'm glad she's steering clear of pop junk.

I'm glad it's not on the album downvoting this post won't put wild side on the track list. i get it's more in the sound of the music she wants to make but it's a snooze fest that misses the mark. she scrapped it for a reason. as for motivation, it made too much sense which is why she cried 1

AmericanIdol Posted April 26 Posted April 26 New song is... a choice. Album will BOMB if she keeps releasing stuff like that, we want main popgirl material. Dance for us! 2 1
UnusualBoy Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) And ironically it's the best solo single she's released. Edited April 26 by UnusualBoy
EriKills Posted April 26 Posted April 26 It's her worst song she's released, the visuals could have been saved for a way better song. Wildside remains her superior song and should have been her breakout hit (it had cute success too tbh!)
Anthinos Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Motivation is her best song. Her new song is boring. She should follow her heart and do what feels right, but I personally don't think the genre suits her.
Digitalism Posted April 26 Posted April 26 It's her best song Now we know why the album didn't come out. She has sht taste and she doesn't know 1

effy Posted April 26 Posted April 26 lmaooo rca finally did something good! we all thought rca was the problem but it's normani's taste 1
Luckitty Posted April 26 Posted April 26 that was difficult to read on dark mode 1:59 wasn't for me but I might check out the album when it's released

dejmieeen Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Girl, what you talking about. It's way better than your recent single.
Exodus Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) Classic example of sometimes the artists doesn't know better. Both the execs and GP aligned in that Motivation was a great choice. Publically shading 1 of your 2 hits isn't a great idea. I love Normani but not many people can get away with not releasing anything for six years and then complaining about the one thing she actually had going for her. I'm sure she'll learn to love it as most artists do in time. Edited April 26 by Exodus 3 1
Dolce Vita Posted April 26 Posted April 26 i never understood the vitriol normani gets. for a pop culture form you'd think most of y'all would be sympathetic to how the industry treats newer artists, (especially woc) that haven't proved themselves yet as they're basically at the mercy of their label until something sticks. she's dealt with this on top of personal family struggles which was shown by the sporadic releases over the years which stalled her career…anyways i'm glad things are slowly moving for her again and can't wait for the album 3
G.U.Y. Posted April 26 Posted April 26 She could be running pop, but, instead, she insists on dated alt-R&B rejects...
dumbsparce Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I love how she talks as if she's a veteran with multiple albums under her belt who makes a comeback after years of absence. Yes girl live your fantasy! 1
Tudors Posted April 26 Posted April 26 She should cry for having 159 as her 900th lead single because it was lame af
