St. Charles Posted April 26 Posted April 26 It's not a criticism, traveling is awesome. But I'm just wondering because it seems like most of the gays I know are really into traveling to Europe, South America, etc multiple times a year even if they are barely able to afford it. Most of the other people I know travel every now and again, but not nearly as much as the gays. Is it just me or do you notice this as well?

rhaenyra Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Bc their sugar sponsors are paying for their expenses and flying them out to these beautiful cities and countries. They get to travel and get a bunch of free stuff tho however, it comes with a strict stipulation under guided stimulation. Which a lot of these influencers/models seem to be okay with
Archetype Posted April 26 Posted April 26 No children is the main reason. Children are extremely expensive. Otherwise, it's not just a gay thing. All of my friends travel a lot, single or in a relationship. Our generation and younger are encouraged to see as much of the world as possible, and you can also do this cheaply if you don't make that much. 1
Bencharmer Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) They try to run from themselves and from the condition they put themselves into or have been put into. Travelling means breaking free. Getting out of where/what you are now and experimenting new things. I may overthink it but the closet is highly symbolic in that theory. I believe that we always have a feeling of being limited due to many things : having the gay label, being historically less respected than people who identify as straight, less romantic options available... It make sense than many "gay people" are searching for more freedom in their life, travelling give that feeling. Edited April 26 by Bencharmer
Message In A Bottle Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) Because we've worked hard for it, people love to assume everything is just handed to us on a platter, but between studying and working all our lives, some of us have been fortunate enough to travel and see multiple parts of the globe. Not surprised some people think individuals prostitute themselves to afford to travel; it's giving an archaic and slightly homophobic vibe. Edited April 26 by Ethereal 2 1
