Burn Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 here he go 🙄 he's just pressed that Normani continues to pay him dust
Motivation93 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Also how does one watch the Terrell episode ? Does it premiere on YouTube?

But listening to this whole episode, I do actually believe he's genuinely mad at people bullying her online and wants to see her win.

MonsterNavy Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 (edited) watching her on the terrell show I love her sm - the candy pain mv is on her phone but its coming out soon - she feels like she was just added in fifth harmony for the group to be politically correct - she hates fifth harmony songs - she basically said she's gonna release whatever and whenever she wants and doesnt care if no one likes it or however it performs/sells as long as its the move she wanted to make, she'll stand by it Edited June 27, 2024 by MonsterNavy
AFullMoonlight Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 She said the nonexistent video that RCA had no budget for or had any plans to release is CP and is coming out soon. 1 2

She decided to announce the album out of the blue with the artwork, putting the label on blast without any notice, and basically forcing them to release something. Of course, this manœuvre didn't go to well as there was nothing to announce to begin with, no final tracklist, no date, nothing (explains also the long silence that ensued). Label decided to go with it but with minimal investment as to prove their point: the album is not solid enough and without any investment on our side you won't go anywhere. Don't expect any video or performance or anything, this is the whole project as it is. Do you know this? Or are you just guessing and theorizing on your own?

Motivation93 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 ^^ I don't think that's exactly what happened. It was actually a bit dark watching her explain it all though sheesh. I doubt that we're getting a mini album film lol. Probably candy paint at best. Hopefully a performance though. Tbh she could even invest her own money and do a live performance on her own. People would be here for it 1
Motivation93 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I also still think that RCA didn't feel forced or that Normani forced their hand. They definitely didn't believe in the album though. I also think that a video exists for 159 because as if she got gunna to come just shoot a visualizer for an album trailer 1
remming Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Really great interview! Nice to see her smiling and having fun. Happy the Candy Paint video is coming soon but I really didn't want it to be the single anymore when the favorites from the album are other songs but I'm still excited to see it
MonsterNavy Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 also, she kinda hinted about her next album a bit too! I forgot what song she was talking about I think it was Still that it was either going to be on this album or the next one 1
MonsterNavy Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 you can tell she's 101% in control of her music too with this interview. and honestly it shows because of how great the album is! 1

People would be here for it When she talked about the business side I thought of it as she wasn't responsible in "wasting" label money in a 6 year rollout and only releasing 3 songs in that time. That's a whole lot of studio, mix and master, writers, clearance, producers, etc. money.

I also think that a video exists for 159 because as if she got gunna to come just shoot a visualizer for an album trailer She mentioned in the Zach sang interview that her old management is part of the reason her album wasn't released and then she said in the terrell interview that she wished things were handled more responsibly so what I took from it was that her budget is probably zero for this rollout because of all of the money she and Brandon probably used the last few years. That's just my perspective and I can't totally blame RCA for that either. Like the above user said... she did record a lot of songs and that's not cheap. The album is really good though and she seems to be taking everything positively
Motivation93 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I think Brandon definitely ****** up her reputation with a lot of label heads there and important people. Lydia was kind of dealt a not so good hand but I have faith. I also think the imprint she was signed on - KeepCool originally. That folding originally with Tunji who signed her then leaving the label. She was being honest when she said a lot changed. I still don't believe Normani posting the album cover is what got her the go ahead to release. I'm sure RCA green lit the album but with really low budget. I guess I'm just curious then why they'd fork over money for a video and album trailer ? I also think she will find some way to perform. She'll def go on a theatre tour 2
Motivation93 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 The tour will also help her recoup her ROI so that's def happening 1

Motivation93 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 There clearly was some budget as candy paint was filmed 1
