Pet Shop Boys shade Taylor "Where are the famous songs?"

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

She's the biggest artist in the world, with all the accolades, all the acclaim, great and beautiful gowns, all the records...

Yet no massive hits whatsoever.

The only one may be Shake It Off, and that's one of her worst songs.

People here not knowing Pet shop boys is a living proof, nothing remains forever in about 20 years or so Taylor music will also be spoken about like this! People are just not interested in visiting old music and that's alway been the case for most part.

Why are you acting like they were the top of their game? Their peers were Madonna, Whitney, Mariah, Janet, Michael, and bands like Nirvana. They're much more of a Bebe Rexha level if I were to make a modern equivalence. They're not Taylor, Rih, Gaga, Ed, Adele level.

My intention was never engage you on anything, your response is to spew violent, toxic abuse over the mildest critique of a random popstar. I only ever intended to point out the bullying and abuse. It's you that keeps spamming paragraphs at me saying that you're only allowed to point out said abuse if you are in fact fat and brain damaged. I mean, it's all very nonsensical and toxic.

"Spamming paragraphs" That's what forum replies are for???

I just went back to look at your first post in this thread:

People have been saying this all along? I don't know why everyone is acting shocked.

You're so right, I should've heed your warning earlier to take my own advice to stop my violent emotional outbreaks!!! I ought not to have engaged with a user incapable of producing anything more than this rancid of a factually incorrect take.

Your failure to reply to actual constructive counterarguments but leaving snarky little comments.. It's very nonsencial and toxic. Apply your own moral compass to your behaviour. Who are you to talk about toxic when you're out here degrading other people for their mental health? When you go lower, I'll go even lower. :michael:

I reiterate, and you can choose to ignore, and go off-topic thinking that you're the moral police in this thread when you're nothing much either:

"It is factual that she has ubiquitous hits; there's a difference between mild critique about her hitmaking and having actual recognisable hits, whivh are especially prevalent amongst my people, MY generation and beyond. Everyone knows about YBWM, LS, SIO and BS at the very least."

"I genuinely don't understand what joy you derive from commenting about artists you dislike so much. It's okay to dislike an artist, but to pretend she doesn't have the hits is dense and requires a new level of low."

They were not MJ-level, true, but this is blasphemous. :deadbanana4:

I mean they're both 2-3 hit wonders with that did electronic music of their time. As much as this hurts the euro gays feelings it's very accurate. :celestial5:

They were quite popular not every artist who defined some boundary in music as to be well known like madonna or MJ.

If you can't cope, just give it up Deelishis... :deadbanana2: Run along.

OT: Pet Shop Boys is wrong, YBWM, LS, SIO and BS at the very least are factually hits everyone knows (at least to the younger people).

She has a few that contest for this generation's Billie Jean I guess.

They have 22 top-10s in the UK. :deadbanana4: If you mean from a US perspective, you really should've clarified it because Bebe Rexha doesn't have 22 top-10s anywhere (nor is her music on the same level).

I don't even agree with what he says, but the Swifties asking "what is a Pet Shop Boy?" (or "what is a Courtney Love?" a week ago) are only revealing they are the most ignorant fanbase out there. Google is free. Use it. :deadbanana4:

Maybe then we'd be spared of such takes as "Don't Blame Me is gospel" and "End Game is a 90s rap song"...

Swifties HATE music, because every single artist, especially those with critical acclaim, who pushed boundaries or were otherwise successful are a threat to Taylor's hegemony over music. It's a cult, and every day it becomes more apparent.

Yes from a perspective outside the uk. There's plenty of Japanese artists with much bigger careers than that that atrl doesn't know and the uk is a significantly smaller music market than Japan. Hell artists that go #1 in the us that don't go #1 in European countries are treated as irrelevant here too.

Here you go again with the meltdown accusations. You must be seething. :lmao:Just hang it up, flatscreen... You once again failed to address the premise of this argument in the first place, conflating criticism on hitmaking versus having actual hits. Quick, come up with something else.

For your comprehension-sake, which you seem like you need help with, I shall bring it up again:

"It is factual that she has ubiquitous hits; there's a difference between mild critique about her hitmaking and having actual recognisable hits, whivh are especially prevalent amongst my people, MY generation and beyond. Everyone knows about YBWM, LS, SIO and BS at the very least."

Do I need to ChatGPT an explanation for my argument for you? But then again you're not only a moral authority, but also the grammar police, so I don't think you need it...? If you're not planning to engage in actual constructive argument, you're just blinded by your dislike/hatred for her music... which has nothing to do with the topic.

To which, I repeat:

"I genuinely don't understand what joy you derive from commenting about artists you dislike so much. It's okay to dislike an artist, but to pretend she doesn't have the hits is dense and requires a new level of low."

Obviously he's wrong but it is kinda interesting how she hasn't had a massive GP-permeating smash since 2014. I guess she's way more of an albums artist now, people always define themselves by their 'era'

Posted

Taylor as a person is inescapable, but I've not heard any of her songs since Shake It Up, neither from this album or the last few.

But honestly, it's not because Taylor Swift is a flop, we just don't have a mono-culture anymore, so it's just easy to avoid if you don't seek it out.

Also the usually delulu stans with "WHO??" at legends and claiming that Taylor much more akin to MJ than Pet Shop Boys. Keep dreaming and stay uneducated :bibliahh:

Any possible respect I had for Pet Shop Boys is now gone. I will NEVER listen to their music. His opinion is completely incorrect, it's one thing to dislike her music but she obviously has popular songs that literally all the general public knows and can recite. She has almost as many hits as The Beatles and she's getting ready to outsell Madonna as best selling female artist. In the end of it all she will be the best selling artist of all time. Pet Shop Boys is nowhere near that list. Shame on him and we will UNLEASH karma.

By the rate she's going i feel she's gonna be the best selling artist oat. The entire industry is gonna drag her and she's only gonna earn in billions going forward. Lord I want this kinda career.
