Ethereal
Dua Lipa definitely seems to be mimicking a more Beyoncé-like career shift right now, transitioning from radio friendly pop girl (New Rules, Levitating, Physical) into a more sophisticated, acclaimed respected artist and performer (Illusion, Espresso, Training Season ). Radical Optimism will probably be her 4, underperforming singles left and right but she will solidify a touring fanbase and won't really flop even if it seems like a career lull. KingWitch
She doesn't have the fanbase for that, the reason why Beyonce survived is she had a huge loyal fanbase, even if they didn't like 4,they stuck around. Dua is underperforming before solidifying her fanbase even, chances of her making a comeback are probably on a Katy Perry level.

It's literally just a three-second, six-note sample replayed over and over... OT: I don't think the underperformance was in Dua's plans. She is surrounded by people who love a certain type of sound, and it might have been hindering her growth. Edited April 24 by G.U.Y.
