What's the difference between proudly posting chart achievements and credible journalists/music critics praising your work? :skull:

"Credible" and one of them is literally a Swiftie that's writing a book about Taylor :thing: definitely unbiased

OT: she saw that this is album is getting worse reviews than MIDnights and had to come up with something real quick :cm:

she only retweets the 100/100s :rip:

Honestly I could make a whole thread about how petty Taylor has been in the entirety of her life and career

When you get positive feedback at work, it's typically public right? In a work meeting, exceptional performances are often met with community praise. Whereas negative feedback is often addressed individually, so as to not shame the person or discourage them from continuing to hone their craft. This is basic human sociology.

touché, although i'd love to see her acknowledge and share the constructive criticism as well. that way it shows she's open to growing and improving as an artist. just my two cents!

As a fan, we know she sees the negative criticism. She hired a vocal coach after the negative critiques on her vocals at her Grammys performance in 2008 (or 2009, whichever it was.) She wrote an entire album (Speak Now) by herself after critics were claiming she wasn't actually writing her own songs for her Debut and Fearless. She made a shorter and more cohesive album (1989) when critics called Red bloated and unfocused. She created folklore when ME! & Lover were ridiculed as her songwriting decline.

She sees the negative criticisms and she applies them so that she can grow her artistry, she doesn't have to publicly acknowledge that for it to be true

Her new album is below Midnights on Metacritic tho, also correct me if I'm wrong but the Pitchfork score hasn't been added yet, so it will go down even more :thing:

Ms. Thing is so calculated and yet people try to overlook her obvious antics. She knows by doing this the reviewers will be incentivized to be positive for clicks.

Other girls would be scalped for this, imagine Beyonce did this, thread would be 100 pages.

This is something new singers do when they get reviews of their debut albums. Seems childish

An 84 and an 85 are basically the same score to me, and even if it goes does with the p4k score there will be other reviews that bring it up. It's going to finish in the mid 80s most likely and to me that's not any sign of negative reception

the over analyzing of her every move to fit some narrative is so exhausting :rip:

Oh plss. Beyonce does the same thing. The only difference is Taylor actually controls her career and strategically plans it while Beyonce's team does it for her and behind her.

I'm not saying they can't be fans, but a Stan will give a biased critique because they love the artist, and also because they want their fave to be critically acclaimed so even if they don't like the album that much they're gonna give it 100 just to get a pat on the back from the artist.

Does she realize how big she is?

Honestly she's very insecure for the level of career that she has

She doesn't have to care about reviews

She doesn't have to go a extra mile to sell more first week

She doesn't have to talk about Kim in her tracks

Tbh honest she doesn't realize she's pass all that

Considering she knows how her fans dox and bully writers who write less than glowing reviews of her (let's not be naive, she's fully aware of it), this is very shady to me.  She literally only shared the perfect scores

Smaller artists doing this would've been different, but there is a known issue with her fanbase going after writers who don't cast her art in a perfect light that adds a weird subtext to her doing this rn.
