Not the first, obviously, but thankfully one of them. An ARTIST.

If she was a risk taker she would not have reserved the best/ "risky" tracks for the deluxe.

I'm sorry, but how old do you girls think Madonna is? She was not the first risk taker in pop music :deadbanana:

in the last 40 years? I'd say Madonna

Music and pop culture only existed since 2007 according to this site and it's hilarious :bibliahh:

Maybe this thread is too ahead of its time :deadbanana:

OT: So many artists took big risks before Christina Aguilera. She never did anything really risky except maybe releasing some mediocre music... ?

Its obviously Madonna, the mother of all pop girls.

Xtina was a risktaker too of course.

in a world without Madonna maybe

not even in a world without Madonna... unless Janet Damita Jo Jackson was a figment of our imaginations. I always thought Stripped was Xtina's attempt at doing a Janet-like album, with the multi-format approach and everything.

Madonna with "Like a Prayer" and then with "Erotica". Her third (nail) was "American Life".

Oh my god, that's a religion/sex/politics trilogy. Never realized that :rip:

Madonna was definitely a risk taker and unlike certain artists she actually wasn't afraid to talk about issues that Americans didn't want to hear about.

...why are people still saying Madonna was the first to take risks when Donna Summer, Debbie Harry, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, and so many others are staring you all in the face.

This was the dumbest attempt to shade I've ever seen on this site. If Madonna was too young to be the first artist to take risks, why would an artist less than 2/3 of her age be in the running? Work on those critical thinking skills, sister.

And even they're too young.

Cher was playing a lesbian in the last 40 years and Madonna hadn't even gotten to Like A Virgin yet.

She may not be the first risk taker but she might be the first risk taker who failed at every risk.
