I think Midnights has more memorable/catchier songs but it's not a better album or a good album at all for that matter

TTPD is bloated, sonically and lyrically uninspiring but it's not nearly as bad as Midnights

Midnights is definitely more memorable and interesting. TTPD has 31 songs and on a first listen the only song that really stood out to me was Florida :skull:

Swift very accurately describes her emotional state as "teenage petulance" on "Down Bad" (yet another polite-sounding bit of synthpop fluff). This sort of clumsy, juvenile melodrama can be quite charming when it comes from an overly earnest adolescent with a thesaurus in one hand and a tear-stained journal in the other; a professional musician, especially the world's most famous one, doesn't get quite as much leeway.

In the 16 songs that make up the main album (produced mostly by Antonoff), only the giddy bubblegum club beat and sing-speak sass of "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart" stands out. It's the only moment when the idea of "trying something new" seems to have occurred to Swift.

No lies here

Oh She is shook :deadbanana2: The last time She did this was during Reputation or Lover I think?

And folklore, and evermore, and Midnights. She does that in every album release

High 70s is a good score for this, I don't agree with a lot of the bad reviews completely but they're needed to weigh down the overly positive ones.

Hopefully this drives her to make a better album next time like she did with Folklore.

This is the type of reviews we need. Spilling the truth about the production :giraffe:
Taylor work with stuart price or the producer of flowers or max martin again.
Drop antonoff and maybe has some 3-4 songs with dessner and thats it

This sums it up so well too, I think that's what annoys me. Taylor has so much power and talent, this woman could release something like self-titled where she really bares her soul in a HONEST way and yet she chooses to rehash her old high school ideas and thoughts at 34 years old. Especially when you compare her to her peers like Madonna and Beyonce who released incredible albums at that age that were mature and universally acclaimed.

It's crazy how in the era we live in a 78 is considered panned for pop girls. I mean it's true, but a mere 8 years ago this would've been an excellent score stans celebrate about :deadbanana4:

She could be releasing God-tier albums, but I genuinely think she lacks the gutsiness of Madonna, Beyoncé or Janet to go there. We're never getting a Velvet Rope, ST or Ray of Light from her. Folkmore is as good as its getting.
