It looks like TTPD is their first music review since, but I may be wrong / it may not be added since it's been a while since the closure Beats Per Minutes and Glide used to stop reviewing music for years but still count after being active once again

ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted April 22 ATRL Moderator Posted April 22 Not the score being lower for the Anthology version when that edition has the best songs!
FolkLover1989 Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Overall will end up at 75 Lower than Lover Β Tells me everything I need to knowΒ

HonourableVomit Posted April 22 Posted April 22 so adjusting for poptimism this may be her most PANNED work everΒ
JasonGosling Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I care about the critic's review. I really do. Β I am the one who would check on sites like AOTY every now and then to read what music fans and critics talk about a new album/single. Β But for the first time, I don't care about what they say about TTPD. I also realise that with the fast pace of music release (i.e. you see tons of new music every week), it is really hard to the listeners to really digest an album before providing their opinions. Most of the time, people only listen to an album once, or even half of the album or at worst skip the tracks which are not interesting to them halfway. They then quickly jump on the bandwagon to provide a review. In the world of hundreds of critics, it looks like the sooner they get their review out, the more it can dictate the following. That happens to the site AOTY (both fan and critic reviews). Β TBH, I didn't like this album after the first listen. It was a total letdown for me. The music was downtempo and subdued (even for the tracks that were produced by Jack). Some songs are unnecessarily verbose (Thank You, Aimee). But it really grew on me after the second, the third, etc. Now, I like it even more than her previous LP "Midnights".Β Β I could have been one of those who criticise this album after the first listen, so I understand why those music fans have been panning it on social media. And yes, this album is probably made for fans only, who would spend time listening to it again and again, so that they can understand her storytelling, humming to her melody, dissecting her lyrics and appreciating her music way more than a casual music listener.Β 2 2 3
Burn Posted April 22 Posted April 22 For someone called "The Music Industry" I expect the final score to be no less than a perfect 100.Β Β If she doesn't then I'm afraid that title will be stripped from her. 3

Sis, that's try hard. What does this even mean?Β You know very well her fans call her so because of numbers, where she's pretty much unmatched. An album with a lower score or lower acclaim has never broken an artist's career so I don't understand why both sides are doing the most all over this thread.Β 1
