Is Charlie Puth about to blow up?

After Taylor shout him out on her new album and he's about to release a collab with Stray Kids, will he blow up?

He did have success in 2022 with Light Switch and Left & Right (moderate hits) with L&R surpassing 900 million streams on Spotify now. If his name is out there and he releases a solo song can he have another Attention?

American Pop music market died in Korea during the 2010's after reaching its height in the 80s/90s. This lead to most 2010's pop artists flopping/being not cared about in Korea. (Only artists to survive are Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.) Thus, American music companies stopped heavily promoting their artists in the country ever since.

So now random, non A-list pop artists who have gone viral in Korea for different reasons (comedian parodies, K-pop idols covers, etc.) or evoke the coffee-shop music elements of Korean Ballad/Indie singers have thrived in Korea as outliers. This includes Charlie Puth, Sia, and Anne-Marie who are all considered in Korea to be the same level as Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish and considered to be bigger/have more hits than Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, etc.

He's already a successful singer with handful hits, including smash hits like See You Again, Attention and We Dont Talk Anymore

if he's going to be an A-lister cuz Taylor mentioned him? No.

The boost would be way bigger if he was unknown, he's already known

Jokes aside, he's way past his peak and is on a constant commercial decline. This new kpop collab can only do so much for him, given the previous underperformance of the Jungkook collab

Literally so random. Charlie is an okay artist but he’s always shading her bestie Selena so this is odd
