The only thing that may pushed the album first week is the reception to the songs and if the album blows up on all the socials . If the lead single is amazing and the video and album are too then more people will buy albums and vinyls even more.

Usually the people that buy physicals are already hardcore fans or people gifting them to friends or relatives. It obviously makes an impact if the album is very well received but I don't think it's that relevant for the first week. More for the longevity, obviously.

anyways let's praise the beauty of folklore today! when i pressed play on the 1 for the first time, i instinctively knew it would beginner my favorite album of all time. it is so immaculately crafted. the songwriting is godtier. her voice has never sounded better. it was a safe escape from the horror of 2020 into a secluded forest filled with melancholia and introspection. the way that she blends fact and fiction together, often utilizing fictional frameworks to explore real feelings/experiences, results in such a thematically rich text.
