chiliam Posted April 16 Posted April 16 1 hour ago, ?????? said: betty is truly the worst song on folklore, even hoax is at least redeemable for poetic qualities. floptty is just a misplaced country hymn from the pov of a good for nothing No, betty is iconic and complete the trilogy so well. And its instantly nostalgia. Its simple but the lyric paint the picture vividly, it take me back to those 2000s simple times feeling, like Gilmore Girls and other 2000s WB/CW shows setting. Epiphany is the worst song on folklore, it`s the only skip, but the lyrical content is so important to put it on the album, to make folklore THE ULTIMATE PANDEMIC ALBUM. 4 2
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Can't believe I'm gonna wake up to the Spotify exhibit tea + chicken (hopefully). I finally get to receive
Squall Posted April 16 Posted April 16 « Betty is the worst song of folklore » I swear some of you should just shut up 1 2 1

West Coast Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Quote Per the admins, feel free to keep discussing the previous albums in the run up to the release. We know this is something everyone else does. That was not the issue — it was the explicit gifs and spamming that derailed the thread. If it continues, or if the off topic veers completely out of control, the thread will be closed again. 2
Twixters Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) It seems so soon for a new original album doesn't she still have some more tvs left? (Or maybe not) regardless she gonna shatter records and blow the music industry up. at least Ariana and Beyoncé had their lil moment Edited April 16 by Twixters

mael Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) I'm sorry, but I still can't get over Her voice. It sounds like its been permanently DAMAGED. Unsure if it's from deepthroating or the Eras tour... Edited April 16 by mael 1

Finkypop Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Not almost 1,000 pages. Haven't been here in a while and I'm shook @ the activity with how dead this promo cycle has mostly been. We love an unimportant and uninteresting artist with no impact

kiche Posted April 16 Posted April 16 midnights isn't a bad album but it's also not an outstanding album. it's okay, and that was the problem. pitchfork calling it subdued said it best. i keep going back to the insta post she made right before the release, "midnights actually really coalesced and flowed out of us when our partners (both actors) did a film together in panama. jack and i found ourselves back in new york, alone, recording every night, staying up late and exploring old memories and midnights past" i'm probably jumping to conclusion and should wait for ttpd to release to make this assumption, but i think midnights, as an album, mirrored her relationship that was burning out and on its last legs. the album feels… restrained… artistically and sonically it felt restrained. this is why i think ttpd is going to be her most experimental artistic album, she has nothing holding her back now. she doesn't even need to use the fictional trick she did for folklore and evermore. if midnights is subdued, tortured poets is going to be uninhibited. 3 1

Donquizote Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Still cant forget the disappointment when I first listened to Midnights. Hope this is not the case of Poets 2

This is why Midnights standard is midnights, the rest it's just an EP made to make happy the basic thinks acoustic it's quality but doesn't have any artistic direction or design, it's a collection than casual pointless things more than Lover. The fact they came for LH, Anti hero, Midnight rain, Karma or bejeweled productions to then stan The great War or High infedelity productions is just "let's make hot takes just because...."
