Taylor Swift - 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT'

you forgot the negative sign next to betty

It's on folklore, so it's still like a well above average song. The order is compared to the other songs on the album but the points are like... compared to all music I listen to. Betty devours anything from 90% of pop girls these days, despite being my skip.

nnn yeah

I fear my tlgad placement may offend you :gaycat4:

I mean, I get it. I know it's liked, but it's rarely in someone's top five on the album, let alone favorite. I'm just a Sl*t! for her storytelling in that way, and it also literally just sounds good. Her voice sounds fantastic and I absolutely love the instrumental. It's one of my favorite Taylor songs ever. :jonnycat:

So true, I could do without the 9/10s as they bring the pace to a screeching halt but they're cute for full listens.:ryan3:

Oh exactly. I have an express listen of folklore when I want to get the good stuff and nothing else, but when I just want to bask in its greatness I'll play through the whole thing, 9/10s and all :ryan3:

now why am i more excited about this album than i was with godnights

It'd be weird if you weren't, considering the unparalleled narrative behind it — first album to drop during Taylormania, exciting track lengths that hint at an alt project, pre-orders through the roof making this a dream (or nightmare for antis) for any chart obsessed individual… Release of our lifetime is COMING. :WAP:

nnn honestly I'm listening now and I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all, its just that I always skipped from cardigan to exile and now like... that's just kinda what I do :gaycat6:

Taylor could achieve something at next year's Grammys:

third person to win AOTY in 2 consecutive years as a main artist (Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder)

third person to win AOTY with two consecutive studio albums (Stevie Wonder and Adele)

All of them are just random extra records.

the most important record is, she becomes THE MOTHER/THE FATHER OF AOTY CATGORY, 5 WINS, THE MOST IN HISTORY

So no one asked but here's some folkloreking lore on this sacred day - about illicit affairs specifically. I relate to pretty much every word on it. I had a secret, intense situationship in early 2020 with an older guy who would call me "kid". This started shortly after I moved to a new city for college. Then the pandemic hit and I had to live with my parents again, leaving him behind. Our last encounter happened in a parking lot... He even took note of my perfume once.

All this to say that illicit affairs absolutely ended me 4 months later when the album dropped. One of her best HYMNS ever. :chick3:

I don't have a definitive ranking for any of her albums but tlgad is definitely last for folklore
