Anna-Artdeco Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) Jack is 50% responsible for how Midnights sounded but let's not forget that that was still Taylor's album and vision 💀 he was literally working on an album like DYYKTATUOB with Lana at the same time so he's capable of different stuff. Taylor just wanted to cash in on the post folklore hype and get out a cute pop album as a return to form and for touring purposes. There's literally an interview with Lorde where she said that Taylor told her that sometimes you need a "bridge/transition album" just to cleanse your palette. Midnights was her palette cleanser. Let's calm down and hear TTPD first before engaging in the Jack lashings. Edited April 16 by Anna-Artdeco 6
folkloreking Posted April 16 Posted April 16 New Aaron-produced track 5 is all I needed. SO perched. 1 2
G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) In the end, the sound will be whatever Taylor wants to, regardless of who is her co-writer/producer (not saying the co-writers/producers don't have any input, but she's the one that sets the overall tone of the whole thing). Magickarp Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Songs sorted by length & producer. Green is unknown, but i think it's pretty obvious Hack is getting Toys & Florida at the very least. I don't think Aaron has ever produced without writing for her so Afraid will probably be Hack's too I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) 2:36 The Alchemy 3:16 My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys 3:23 Fresh Out the Slammer 3:30 "Florida!!! 3:35 Clara Bow 3:36 I Can Do It with a Broken Heart 3:38 Fortnight 3:48 The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived 4:05 "Guilty as Sin?" 4:14 Down Bad 4:21 So Long, London 4:22 Loml 4:37 The Tortured Poets Department 4:53 Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? 5:34 But Daddy I Love Him 5:40

And I'm still not over him getting track 5, BDILH one of her longest songs ever, and the closer. Instant discography highlights 1

folkloreking Posted April 16 Posted April 16 As for Jack, I expect more My Grammys Ricochets and Augusts with a couple of classic Bleachers-esque bops like Shadow and I Wanna Get Better based on the vibe of this album (especially if it's a hybrid like Red), which sounds very promising to me.

I mean you can have more than one transition album. Which I don't think that's what mids is, it was just an album to get back on the road with, TTPD seems like the album she was hoping to get her 4th AOTY with

Shoful Posted April 16 Posted April 16 We need a genre change if we're gonna get anything fresh from hack

Redstreak Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Tbh I'm really curious what this pop up library is meant to convey with us. I imagine there will be a lot of info spread of it on twitter for the larger fan base to engage with. I'm guessing it'll be very Easter eggy
Migs30283 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) Taylor could achieve something at next year's Grammys: third person to win AOTY in 2 consecutive years as a main artist (Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder) third person to win AOTY with two consecutive studio albums (Stevie Wonder and Adele) Edited April 16 by Migs30283 1
Achilles. Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Happy folklore day! I simply do not know a better album. Spoiler I know one that's equally good, though. But that's getting ahead of myself. 6
