RobynYoBank Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) Also not Vampire Weekend being the first artist to dethrone Taylor on my monthly last.fm charts since Eras Tour started mere days before TTPD Edited April 16 by RobynYoBank

Bonicap Posted April 16 Posted April 16 3 minutes ago, Bonicap said: We don't have any solid data to believe that she is at 2M preorders, but the Target numbers are quite insane. She is at +200k there and 1989TV did less than 100k (preorders). For comparison, 1989TV did around 850k preorders overall and ended up at 1.36M pure sales. 1

I would've loved it if she had worked with new producers but I'm not complaining. dance fever has to be one of my most favorite releases this decade so far so my expectations are hiiiigh Edited April 16 by MidnightsAtPeace 1
kayliah Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I know she makes great music with dessner and antonoff but she should branch out with other producers and test the waters before deciding on a new collaborator and direction. She needs to revamp and change up her sound for the next era to avoid reduncancy. 1 1 1

I'm sure ts12 will be more lighthearted and she will work with other people 1
P!NK2LOVE Posted April 16 Posted April 16 While we wait, I thought this might be a fun idea. Let's say which already existing song we'd like to each song to sound like / a mood you want it to encapsulate: 1. Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) A House In Nebraska - Ethel Cain 2. The Tortured Poets Department Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) - Kate Bush 3. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys all-american ***** - Olivia Rodrigo 4. Down Bad TV - Billie Eilish 5. So Long, London All I Ask - Adele 6. But Daddy I Love Him vampire - Olivia Ridrigo 7. Fresh Out The Slammer Free - Florence + The Machine 8. Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine) Howl - Florence + The Machine 9. Guilty as Sin? Heroin - Lana Del Rey 10. Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? Control - Janet Jackson 11. I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) 29 - Demi Lovato 12. loml The Alcott (feat. Taylor Swift) - The National 13. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart we can't be friends (wait for your love) - Ariana Grande 14. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived Josslyn - Olivia O'Brien 15. The Alchemy The Scientist - Coldplay 16. Clara Bow Hard Times - Ethel Cain Ngl, typing the tracklist out like that made me quiver with excitement and anticipation. I am sooo excited 4
By the Water Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Kinda love the way she approached the promo for this. The issue with MMWM is that it was too dragged out. This time she left us desperate for info then bombarded us with it a few days before it comes out so the hype is at its peak at the right moment. How many times have we seen artists waste all their hype with their lead single?
Migs30283 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 with jack antonoff writing 8 out of the 16 songs from ttpd, the jack antonoff haters are going nuts.

Lemon Posted April 16 Posted April 16 My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys and Who's Afraid of Little Old Me? being self-written. 1
dyktatuob Posted April 16 Posted April 16 sorry but it's hard to blame everything on jack considering how great recent albums by lana, florence and st vincent were the only thing i blame him for is the fact that he's a yes man 1
Migs30283 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 so Aaron Dessner is now eligible for AOTY at next year's Grammys because he co-wrote 5 tracks from TTPD ALBUM

Folklore89sm Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I'm clinging to the fact that because she's obsessed with having her albums be sonically cohesive and that Aaron doesn't specialise in dreary synth pop, this album hopefully won't be a synth pop record. The 3am songs on MID that Aaron produced simply wouldn't have fit on the standard album which is why they were left off 1
MidnightsAtPeace Posted April 16 Posted April 16 1. Fortnight Ethel Cain - American Teenager 2. The Tortured Poets Department Taylor Swift - All Too Well 3. But Daddy I Love Him Fleetwood Mac - The Chain 7. Fresh Out the Slammer MARINA - I'm A Ruin 8. Florida!!! Florence + The Machine - Delilah 9. Guilty As Sin? Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever 10.
