Why does she need an entire week just to tell us this?

:suburban:

If it's that, then I'd guess it just serves as a fun little countdown that's more engaging than tweeting "X days left!!” a few times :rip:

I wouldn't say it's a bad album (I wouldn't say she released a single bad album for that matter), but it's definitely just there for me, and bottom 2 in her discography (how excited that the other one in the bottom two is tomorrow :clack:).

At least she consolidated all of her bad albums to the same career stretch so the poor 2017-2020 Swiftismists didn't have to deal with a low, then a resurgence, and then another low

That was kind of her:clack:

I would like to say that y'all hype the wrong songs up. Mr. Perfectly Fine does not slap when 5 Million Swifties keep screaming that it's a masterpiece. We Were Happy should have gotten that treatment.

Not gonna lie I applaud the Swifties that stayed through the constant regression of Red -> 1989 -> Rep -> Lover. Y'all are real ones. I would've jumped ship. :clack:

I love Lover personally, but for us former Country Swifties, it's particularly special because Soon You'll Get Better feels like seeing heaven again after being locked outside for seven years (despite the subject matter being quite heavy) :clack:

Recency bias is real because I distinctly remember claiming every new album was her new best album after the first few listens. Well, except for Lover - even though I did enjoy it.

Honestly this woman could release ME! over and over and over in more and more and more derivative forms than the last, and I'd still be here :clack:

I hitched my wagon to miss Swift 17 years and 2 months ago (Jesus...), and even if there have been some waverings, I can't imagine it any other way. Quite honestly she could kill everyone in my family and cut off all my limbs and I'd still be first in line for the next album release, because this is the woman who made evermore, and I'll overlook anything for that :clack:

nnnn the way I was so mad when she pretended NYD was country because not only was it NOT country, it was also just... not good :clack:

Yes, some of the notes app one liners were clever, but... the melody had me in the trenches and that was the best part of CountryLor :clack:

SYGB kept me going until we got to the folk era (and the random country song tacked onto each lol) :clack:

Back then I created a fake Tinder acc of a hottie so i could promote ME!

I used the lyrics to have a conversation, until they figured it out.

:clack:

"Oh this is the type of music u like? 😅"

Whew the way they were trying to be nice, some were really bitchy tho

SYGB had to hold me over all the way until Evermore since that one actually had several tracks that were at a minimum country-adjacent, whereas Folklore didn't scratch the itch because I… don't really care for Debbie except the LPSS version that I didn't hear until years later anyway :suburban:

Spoiler

Well, I think neither transitions are that bad, though they are regressions yes.

But I think evermore -> Midnights is less jarring that Red -> 1989. 1989 is really saved in my eyes by the surefire bangers all throughout. However, the album barely has any personality and most lyrics are extremely vague (this is a nicer term for generic), the complete opposite of Red.

I'm still kind of hoping TTPD has some country somewhere because reliving the dark days where it was literally just SYGB and her feature on Babe still hurts :suburban:

I guess I was willing to take folklore as a primarily acoustic album with strong lyrical tendencies at face value and accept it as the closest thing to country we'd ever get again (I mean... this woman had put out ME! 15 months before, so I was just glad we were artistically improving), and then we got evermore and I knew we were safe :suburban:

Honestly, Beelzebub is my skip on folklore, so I'm with you there too :suburban:

It's funny too cause No Body, No Blood of Christ is also my skip on evermore :suburban:

Not NBNC catching strays that I secretly totally agree with :suburban:

Soon You'll Get Better is not a song I enjoy listening to. It would be near the bottom of my ranking.

1989 was perfect after speak now and Red. Another album of 6 minutes narrative country rock songs and her career would have been John mayered and now She would be a Legacy act :chick1:. The perfect moment to change everything. Doesn't matter if worst than Red, was refreshing

Because we've let her get away without flopping for too long, we need to put the fear in the good sis to give us interviews and pizazz again

Cowboy Like Me is Taylor Swift's best song. There are some things that are factual and this is one of them.
