When the new scramble can make 2 words, one that starts with E, & the other not. I'm gonna be so pissed.

She's so insane like... it's a random picture of her at Coachella with a random Arizona Cardinals fan dog who is clearly very overwhelmed to be meeting Taylor Swift, and she's serving like an effortless beauty peak :jonny5:

I recall a twitter thread with Midnights production timeline where it specified that WCS/High infidelity/Hits Different were the first ones to be recorded and Aaron confirmed that it was supposed to be the sound of the album at first…

playing reputa on the day of the lord and IDSB lokwey aged like milk, the rest of the album holds up but IDSB doesnt even work on the context or narrative of the album. I knew why she probably wanted to write it but it's lowkey the only dud for me :deadbanana4:

nvm Dont Blame Me started so back to church :worship2:

I have to say, even if people were constantly filming them it's nice to see Taylor in the Coachella crowd having fun with her man :cries:

Less than 5 days ahhh

I think it at least contributes to the fakeout of the album. It starts with these songs that are clearly meant to be a little edgier than a typical Taylor song - if maybe intentionally a little extra - and keeps that up until Delicate where it starts to dissolve into a love-centric album. After the first four, the only track that really keeps up the facade is Look what You Made Me Do and that's track six. I also think IDSB aged less than perfectly, and I don't typically listen to it much, but I get why it's there.

Oh you're almost spot on but you forgot TIWWCHNT as an edgy moment which... given how little anyone listens to that song, I guess I can't blame you for

Well, I did think about listing it, but I considered that it might be the one edgier track that genuinely, completely, unironically reflects her true feelings about that situation. There's no weird vocal effect, the basis isn't pure sarcasm, there's no Right Said Fred sample - I think she meant that one!

Although, to be fair, from a lyrical perspective, Ready For It also seems genuine. RFI also kind of brilliantly mirrors the album as a whole by starting off harder and then transitioning into a soaring pop chorus about dreaming about your boyfriend, giving away the whole conceit of the album on the very first track, but that's another thing entirely. I just wanted to mention it because it's another thing I thought about and then didn't say :suburban:

wait nvm I spoke too soon and forgot Gergeous existed

So the streets are saying Aaron Dessner was the original producer on midnights? Does it means the album could've been listenable? 😭😭

Fair point. TIWWCHNT (*biblicization impending) has always come across as the Resurreputation track with the deepest connections to the insecure lash-out label that a lot of negative critical reviews assigned to the album at the time. You're right in saying there isn't anywhere in the track for her to hide her true feelings, and that it's probably the most open look at her thoughts at the time. If only it was listenable :suburban:

Can't even remember the last time girlie posted a personal pic on twitter. If she wants her engagement back, she should posts one or two.
