literally the only flaw on sacRED.. ugh if only she replaced it with The Very First Night if she wanted the album to have another bop
:ryan3:

Oh what a perfect substitution, you're SO right! And considering how it thematically fits with WAFGBTH... Lord liked to play tricks with this track list, lets just say that :ryan3:

Holy Ghost oh I was grooving. Listening to this song makes me want to go crash my car, like that's the only way I can verbalize it. Ooh-wayee-yaahh-woah, indeed! No further words, as I had to get up and dance instead of write anything else

Except I need whoever is responsible to the weird, off key, high pitched, ANNOYING little piano plinks at the very end of the song that I'm really hoping aren't supposed to be there (starting at 2:51) to know that I have an assassin called and he's got a sniper's rifle pointed into your bedroom window! Repent or perish!

Salvation through Blessed Talent... let's just sit with this one. I never shut up about this song, so I really just want to take this opportunity to sit and ruminate on its greatness and glory. This is the best song on the album, this is the best song she made in the first 10 years of her career, this is the first, second, or third best song she's ever made. I know that most of you just don't get it the way I do (excepting the glorious beloved brain-roommate of mine @Klein), and I feel that trying to convey it in words would be a disservice to this masterpiece. The vocalizations at 2:52 though... literally my favorite thing she's ever done in front of a microphone. She made those more prominent in the New Testament for ME!, and for ME! alone. I need someone to kill me right now, as listening to this song is literally the best my life ever is, and it's all downhill from here

TV right? Yeah they sound normal on the OG, they're literally off-key in the TV :ryan3:

Blondie was RUSHING to crank Red TV out while busy getting holed up in Belfast with Joe and it shows

Yes. I honestly barely noticed them in the Old Testament, but in the New Testament they're... right there :ryan3:

Holy Ground TV is an abomination — a bastarization of a perfect, perfect hymn.

Everytime I say, "Hey Siri, play Holy Ground by Taylor Swift,” my heart sinks when she responds that she's playing Taylor's Version… oh how disgusting.

honestly, i HOPE the credits come today. it's what should happens after preach now day got sidetracked with track lengths

If I said I Knew You Were Trouble (TV) actually elevates the song by making it sound less dated then what

Spoiler

Holy Ground (TV) can rot though

The Lord's Opus (alternatively... The Lord's Joni Mitchell Fanfiction but that's neither here nor there), oh I really do adore this song, and I'd probably love it a lot more if it didn't literally follow up the best song of all time. It had big shoes to fill and it just doesn't quite measure up. This does have some of my favorite indie vocal fillers of Lord's entire career (the "oh's", of course) Ultimately, it is cute, and back before I knew anything about good taste or quality music it was my favorite on the album because I thought the nuanced commentary on fame was edgy and cool, and no one else stanned for it. I will say, I anticipate Clara Bow to play on a similar concept, though I have a feeling it's going to stomp on this.

Just remembered that back in the day blondie posted a picture of herself at Animal Kingdom (Disney World) and the next time I went I walked past the exact spot on the sidewalk where she took the picture and thought "ah yes, the holy ground.”

Not yet, as far as i know

Taylor's pop career is so silly. Like why is she trying to be the Joni Mitchell of Katy Perrys when she could just be the Taylor Swift of Joni Mitchells?
