Ms. Sweetener lied to us and we raged for 30 pages.
I'm still not over that btw, she made me feel so bad about the album  :gaycat7:

I need financial compensation, I'm traumatized!

Lets file a lawsuit together

Let me recount some Preach Now era memories since they're the best thing that's ever been ours. :heart2:

1. my mother interrupting my screening of the album announcement livestream to talk about some school ****.

2. finding out that "Mine" was being rush released and buying it on iTunes without even listening to the preview and laying on my bed with the sun shining through the window and the biggest smile on my face as I blasted it for the first time.

3. making my mother, brother, and his friend watch the "Mine" video premiere on CMT while we were eating dinner.

4. spending the entire "Mean" single run waiting for it to climb up the iTunes chart and getting frustrated because it just got stuck in the mid-30s forever. Some of yall would NOT after survived an era where every single single was flopping left, right, and center.

5. watching her perform "Innocent" at the vmas and being shocked that "she's forgiving him?” (actual words of shock that i spoke at the time). then downloading the audio of that performance and listening to it 100+ times before the album even dropped.

6. blasting "Better Than Revenge" once during class when our teacher let us take turns playing music. I think I played "Enchanted" too?

7. the absolute vindication! of "someday I'll be singing this at the Grammys.”

8. the way we all spent an entire year champing at the bit, desperate for her to announce that "Enchanted" would be a single but also terrified that a radio edit would butcher the song's magic.

9. "Super Bass.”

10. the deluxe tracks getting put on iTunes with an announcement that "Ours" would be the next single, despite "If This Was A Movie" outperforming it. And @Taylor fanboy was constantly FUMING about "Ours" and calling "Sparks Fly" the only REAL #1 hit "from the actual album.”

You really had to be there.

When the longer songs are just longer because of musical interludes made by Jack….then will you be excited?

Oh this brings back such strong memories :suburban:

I first got onto TayInternet in like April 2011 (I usually say in the pre-LP4 era but it was midway through Speak Now) because I wanted to talk about the Mean performance at the ACMs so I made a Twitter account to do it

Watching The Story of Us crash and burn as a pop single was honestly very formative for me as a young practitioner of Swiftism :suburban:

I don't think I ever really wanted Enchanted to be pushed, but I desperately wanted Sparks Fly to be pushed as a crossover because I was CERTAIN it would be Love Story/YBWM sized... oh those were good times. I was quite resentful that Ours got picked (it's... never been my favorite :suburban:) as the single and that it got an actual video whereas Sparks Fly was stuck with that mediocre tour video.

The Super Bass storyline was ICONIC, and back when it was still a good thing to be associated with miss Minaj, I was going up and down Twitter for YEARS taking credit for Onika's fame (:gaycat4:)

I can concur, "someday, I'll be singing this at the Grammys" was probably the first night where I suffered heart palpitations at the hands of Taylor :suburban:

Oh, and I have such fond memories of seeing the tour. It was my first time in a stadium and it was right after my birthday and I only remember like three songs and I only have like two blurry photos of the stage without Taylor even on it because I was so excited the entire time that I forgot to take pictures :deadbanana2:

Yeah my most anticipated were Daddy & Fix, but the runtime basically killed one off completely, & secured the other as my fave :jonny5:

I wonder if she's gonna do a little mermaid ballad in Daddy, or is there more to the sing. I'm so hyped for that one :jonny5:

The track lengths of TTPD album is giving me alternative rock.

LMAO let me say something that is so shocking and revealing about myself. Even though I've been a fan / stan of Taylor's since her literal debut single, I joined social media… as a Lady Gaga stan. I was deep in the monster fanbase and used to get "popular posts" all the time. And eventually I joined ATRL because I saw monsters talking about it and I thought I'd come here and be with the monsters, but then I never actually fit in with the monsters here and ended up making my home with the few swifties who were on here mid-SN era. Some will remember that my original username was a tribute to Natalia Kills, but she was such a flop and I gradually became so well known that people didn't even realize it was a reference to her; they thought it was just "my" thing. People were upset when I changed because it was "iconic,” even though nobody actually got the reference. :gaycat6:

I'm so jealous you got to go to the Speak Now Tour. I'd never paid attention to concerts at the time, so I didn't even really think about trying to get tickets. It wouldn't have mattered even if I had since her concert here overlapped with my high school graduation. :gaycat6: Still my greatest swiftie regret anyways. :gaycat7:

I really hope that she does anniversary tours someday when she's an old flop. I NEED a countrylor throwback tour. :gaycat6:
