Klein Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Btw if there is some obscure Speak Now lore that OG stans know about, be kind enough to share it with the newbie on this blessed day
Peak Now Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Speak Now is truly her best album PERIOD. No skips front to back, just unique songwriting laden with 4+ minutes of material, catchy hooks, and a breadth of topics and emotions that certain other artists still haven't managed to emulate (let alone at the age of 19), from firing back at haters to thanking your fans, from apologizing for letting someone down to ripping into someone 10 years older in the most poetic way possible, from daydreaming about unrequited love to looking back on the real breakup of someone you thought would last forever, from a heartfelt ballad about the struggles of growing up to the scathing pop-rock-adjacent diss track that lays bare the sheer pettiness of a teenage girl getting cheated on. but wbk Spoiler now let's pretend TV doesn't exist cuz i have multiple bones to pick with Tasteless

I Can Fix Him is probably a happy song, it's so short Spoiler Also, the fact that this song is coming right after 5 minute long WAOLOM? She's gonna do DBATC -> London Boy trick again 1
Achilles. Posted April 11 Posted April 11 The way I suspected that she was going to serve true art with this one because she always follows up her peak albums with albums that are a bit less mainstream. I think she'll lean more into the 3am tracks direction of things, too.
wastedpotential Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Omg this is my 1300th post To celebrate: TTPD is coming to eviscerate everyone, commercially and critically and emotionally! I hope y'all are buckled in for the ride! Also, this is as good of a place as any to admit that in my head I've been referring to this album as the titty police department (Tee-Tee-Pee-Dee -> Titty PD...) for at least a month now

Dear Reader Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Honestly, I really don't need happy songs. Give me that PTSD queen

The only good things he's ever done I fear Well that is not obscure lore (or maybe I already know the most obscure lore about SN who knows?). And we thank Scott Borchetta for that. One of his only good actions. Let me put a flower on his spiritual grave as a thank you.

Usually I would agree, because she knows not her entire audience is sad, depressed and single. And she would add at least 2 or 3 happy songs to make everyone else happy, but I think she didn't do that this time.

Teneo Posted April 11 Posted April 11 We always rank Speak Now lower than it deserves. When you actually get to each individual song, it's truly a gem. I put all the blame on Mine. This song could be deleted and her discography would actually improve. Literal noise. 1
