LOVE your YNS stanning. It's my third most played song from the album behind Love Story and Fearless!

But I disgree with your Fifteen lashings. That had to be the single after YBWM because it was the flip of the song. YBWM was the romanticized, idealized, Hollywood teen romcom crush song, and Fifteen was the mature clear-eyed wise-beyond-her years coming of age counter to it. She did the same trick even more obviously with Love Story -> White Horse (literally going from "I'll be the princess" to "I'm not a princess”). Making Fearless the fifth single was a setup to repeat the pattern again, and I think TWILY would have made the most sense as its counter. But yes, I would have loved to have YNS and F&A and TWILY as singles. Ugh. She should've milked Fearless like a Shania Twain album!

I stanned the CSI remix SO HARD back in 2009.

I think part of me is resentful of the flop. As much as I'm not a success stan and that I will gobble up anything she puts out no matter how it does (I mean, I am a tier-one evermore loser, so...), but a flop single will always piss me awf. I can understand the narrative choices, but while the girls were checking for that, the dads forced to sit through it on the country stations and god forbid the pop stations too did not give a single **** about her friend Abigail, and they called in and let the programming directors know that. You're Not Sorry had POTENTIAL, and career-screwup fuckery just bothers me. I can agree with the Fearless -> TWILY pipeline, but I fear the era was harmed by both Love Jesus and YBWC taking an eternity to cross over and limiting the time the era had before Preach Now.

Spoiler

You're brave, I'd never admit to enjoying the CSI remix in public I did enjoy it though

Oh god. The first lyric clunker:

"His strength is making me stronger"

Girl. You were so close to flawlessness.

That's actually Taylor's pen showcasing the dichotomy of her parents' contributions to her life. In other words, her father inspired her NOTHING hence The Best Day is about Andrea.

not the Style (Nokia Version) stanning in here :dancehall:

I mostly listen to TVs- but I do not stand by Style. The chorus doesn't hit like the OG- smth offbeat abt it :monkey:

No lie:  The OG came on my bf's shuffle and i was like "wtf was that?!!” I thought it sounded horrible.

I've been converted.

It took ages, but I'm fully on board with Styles TV :jonny5:

I will admit it took me a little while to get on board with the extra half-step note added to the guitar line, but I'm on board now. The only remaining disappointment is the "Take Me Home!" in the bridge being muted, but I'm usually in such a emotional frenzy from the power of that chorus that I hardly notice anymore :ryan3:

Style vs. Style TV is a THING.

Just Don't Stream... is a song that truly exists. There was a really annoying loser on stan twitter who made it her entire personality for YEARS, so I always think of her when I listen, which kinda ruins it even further. Second worst Platinum track for a reason :suburban:

That being said, fa-a-a-ol-ah-ah-ah-oh at the end of the chorus (and that HUH!) are cunty, I cannot lie :suburban:

Waiting for y'all to get to Untouchable because that song is one of my favorites by her and I missed it as a surprise song by ONE SHOW.

Forever and Always is the ONLY acoustic version that she has recorded that is good.

Haunted (Acoustic) would like a word- still furious that she never re-recorded it :irate:

Oh babe I just finished, what a marvelous tune she is!

The original rock version is kinda hideous, so it's amazing what she made out of it!

I hate that it is just the album vocals with new music.  It doesn't work like that.

If I say I listened to 1989 TV once and that's it :suburban:
