Isn't long live an anthem?

Yes. Hence why I said "since 2010.” When Long Live came out.

Can't believe we are in single digit days until release!! :hippo:

Potentially just one week until the raw chicken jumps out of the oven… not that I'll risk my personal health by consuming it, but to those who are interested in such peculiar delicacies. :gaycat6:

Kinda pressed that she hasn't served us an epic anthemic closing track since 2010. (Unless you'd like to count New Romantics). Clara Bow is serving ballad finale, once again. Can you come up with something new?

You mean you didn't like the epic anthems that are New Year's Day and Daylight?

Or the gothpunk female rage anthem that is Girl at Home if we're counting the deluxe

Spoiler

But didn't because it didn't fit the 'whack Loser and Puta at any given opportunity' narrative

Because these poets will change

Can Spotify feel it now?

These walls that Artemas, Hozier, Djo, Future, Metro Boomin and Benson Boone put to hold us back from the #1 will fall down

It's a revolution the time will come

For TTPD to finally win

And we'll sing Hallelujahhhhhhhh

New Year's Day was a very nice moment on the Reputation Tour and Daylight is one of the better pieces of writing on Loser (but its voicemail makes it so utterly unlistenable that it hardly even matters).

She's been struggling with finishing her albums for ages, though. "hoax" is the only closing track of the last decade that makes my top 5. :rip:

Begin Again

Someone please remind her how to end an album!

What about evermore makes you put it in your bottom three?

I wish she put the bonus tracks in the track listing to where she thinks they would go. I hate songs being tacked on at the end.

Stevie Nicks puts her bonus tracks in the tracklist and it's glorious to have a closing track that wasn't a bonus track.

Dear Reader is the perfect album closer tbh, she did that with MID 3am

I wish that were the standard album closer instead of Mastermind, but mostly because its really the only 3am track I am into now.

I also wish Jade Green Midnights was the main cover because it is the best and the packaging for it is chef kiss.

Since overnight we ranked the vaults and the closers, let me put in my two cents

Spoiler

Tier 1 - Incredible

Begin Again

evermore

Long Live

hoax

Our Song
Clean

Tier 2 - meh

Mastermind

Daylight

Change

New Year's Day

Spoiler

Tier 1 - Why tf was it kept off of the original album?

Mr Perfectly Fine

Castles Crumbling

Foolish One

Better Man

Nothing New

I Bet You Think About Me

Forever Winter

The Very First Night

All Too Well (10 Minutes Version)

Tier 2 - I like what I hear

That's When

Don't You

Electric Touch

I Can See You

Timeless

Babe

Now That We Don't Talk

Is It Over Now?

Tier 3 - mmmm okay maybe why not

Bye Bye Baby

When Emma Falls In Love

Message In A Bottle

"Sl*t!"

Suburban Legends

Tier 4 - should have stayed in the vault

We Were Happy

You All Over Me

Run

Say Don't Go

Red > Speak Now >>> 1989 >>>>>>>>>>> Fearless

OT: I expect Clara Bowel Movement to enter the first tier of the closing tracks. I actually have high expectations for this song. I want her to tackle the topic of her celebrity and maybe the darkest sides of it because it's on appearance something she enjoys but I'm sure there are some dark parts of it that she thinks about a lot.

OT2: I obviously expect to have some vault tracks for TTPD, just like You're Losing Me for Midnights. I think it'll be the love songs about Travis maybe. I don't know, I hope, maybe?

Incredibly unpopular opinion, but I have never gotten the hype over Long Live :deadbanana2: It's cute enough, but I don't really find the idea of a song for fans particularly moving to begin with.

Spoiler

I find the Speak Now vault incredibly underwhelming apart from Timeless :chick3:
